Add Animal Crossing to that and you have my list. I really can't narrow it down to one...Scribblenauts or Flipbook Studio.

id wait till scribblenauts. as for games right now... pokemon even though Dragon Quest 5 is my favorite game on the DS as of right now.
If I only had 1 game, my choice would probably be Pokemon. Yeah, I'm like that.Hegna1
this. i could spend 100s more hours making pokemon for competitive battling. if its not limited to the DS though, i'de choose guild wars (or GW2 in the future) because games with other people to play with always last me the longest. come to think of it, team fortress 2 would be good as well.
On the DS I would agree with CHinatown Wars. It has some of the highest replayability and open ended-ness available on the DS. ANd just roks!
how can people say that (and it's not the quoted guy only) even before the game's released? didnt you learn from the past 3485734985 times that hyping a game like that ruins the experience, no matter how great the game is? look at what you did to twilight princess, everyone hates the poor game, just because they hyped it for years and years, and got their hopes up. if they werent looking for the thing they were hyping TP for, they would realize that TP is an awesome game. you dont want scribblenauts to share the same fate, do you?Scribblenauts.

Starcraft DS. If Blizzard ever ports Starcraft to the DS, I may as well superglue the cartridge into my DS. Well, if I did that, I wouldn't be able to play Clubhouse Games or the upcoming Scribblenauts, or any of the other DS games I have. My selection of DS games is pretty great. Meteos made me happy when the DS had a shortage of good games, and it's still an awesome game all these years later. I'll leave it at this before I make it too long.
obviously its on DS IM guessing?
then POkemon Platinum, soon to be replaced by Pokemon Soul Silver IM sure. Seeing as the only pokemon game I DIDNT like was Ruby and Sapphire plus G/S were my favorites of all so IM sure the remakes SS/HG will be totally pwnage. but as of now Pokemon Platinum yeah.
xylophagous should be locked away in a basement in Austria for 24 years for even suggesting that you play Fritzl DS.

Well, we are talking about playing one game forever. So chess is a natural choice in that it is massively replayable and impossible to master.
Would be TWEWY, my fav game but.... I was thinking of something with 'forever' replay value just as Pokemon.
However, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum was good, it wasnt as great as it's predecessors.... So in this case, I'll go with Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship 2009.

These have been my thoughts, exactly.
xylophagous, you obviously didn't get my horrible, horrible joke, and that's probably for the best anyway. As far as Chess goes, Clubhouse Games has Chess and 41 other games, with an unbeatable presentation. It's great just for being a means of online pictochat, and a vastly improved Pictochat at that.
However, being a collection of 42 games, obviously the Chess isn't going to be quite like a dedicated chess game, and if you're only going to be chiefly playing the AI, lets just say it's certainly good enough for learning the basics. However, online play, THE BEST single-card play on the system, a perfect interface, fully detailed rules for every game, support for the rumble pack to shake when it's your turn, etc makes Clubhouse Games a very worthy candidate for this list. Chess has infinite replay value, and the other games here aren't too shabby either.
I just wish it had Go and voice chat. :P
I'd pick either Scribblenauts or Worms. Also, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, but that's just because I absolutely love Kingdom Hearts, and I'm definitely going to put a lot of hours into that one.
I'm not too fond of Pokemon. Platinum only got ~10 hours playtime from me, so that's not a game I'd pick for "forever with 1 game gaming".

Yeah, I did think about Clubhouse Games as my nomination but the AI in several of the games is pretty crummy. The chess is laughable even at the highest level. Go would be an awesome addition to the DS if it had online multiplayer. Hopefully we'll see a western Go game at some point.
