Would you buy it? Link to the past is a classic zelda game, and if they remade it with 3D environments it would be awesome. Maybe make the bosses harder with different attack patterns, hide all the heart peices in different locations, and put weapons/tools, that arent found in dungeons, in different locations.

I would buy a Wii just to play it.

And people wonder why there are sooo many remakes instead of actual sequels and new ip's. Exhibit A everybody, take note.

There have been a lot of sequels on the Wii, as well as new ips, not that Nintendo really needs new ips from the extensive amount of franchises they already have to choose from.

Besides the point, people whine and complain about all the remakes and reimaginings yet they keep asking for them.

I think the game is great as it is. I would love a 3D game of Zelda 2. I love the game but the style wasn't recieved to well by most. Now this is as long as by 3D you mean like when Ocarina of Time first came out, not the new 3DS release. I don't like that particular gimmick.

I'd play it if the gameplay wasn't altered. If it was remade to be like Ocarina of Time or something I wouldn't be interested. But a top down isometric with vamped up graphics... I'd go that.

Well part of it is fan request. The other part is that it's easier to tweak a game you already made before rather than making a brand new game from scratch. These remakes pay the bills.

No, why do people like these things? Unless it's a case where the original game couldn't run right, such as Half Life 2 on the original Xbox, I really don't see why you'd want the remake... Link To The Past is absolutely brilliant, why mess with a cIassic?

I didn't find anything lacking in the top-down format in A lInk to the Past. Did you ever say to yourself while playing: "I just can't get into this game - it needs something else..."?

This right here, although I'd prefer a simple 3D upgrade for 3DS or something like that. LTTP is perfect just the way it is right now.

Nah, leave ALttP alone.... it doesn't need a remake.

Besides.... OoT basically is ALttP in 3D....

i agree with this. as much asi loved ALttP i really think its time for newer zelda games to be made instead of remakes. i would like to see a new zelda game made for the 3ds with the same style as ALttP though...

I don't really see how that would work. OoT is already very similar to ALttP. Unless you mean more of a 2.5D style. In that case, if the gameplay was updated enough, I would be interested.

We get new Zelda games pretty often, we rarely ever get Zelda remakes. OoT 3D and I guess the color version of Link's Awakening are the closest things to them. If ALTTP was remade I'd rather have it in the same 2D style just with higher resolution, widescreen graphics. The first Zelda is the game that needs remade the most. If they did do a 3D modern take on it, it would probably feel like a new game.

Even more than the Mario games?!? I can't think of any Zelda remakes other than OoT and the color GameBoy one as mentioned in the previous post. What else was there as those two don't even make up for the numerous SMB 3 remakes :)

That's not a remake, that's a port. Nothing was updated in any one of those games. Zelda has had updates in the Gamecube version and the 3DS version. Metroid has only had 1 remake and that was a Remade Metroid 1 which was Zero Mission.

All those super mario bros games I mentioned are remakes, not ports. They built them from the ground up constructed of 16 bit with more detail in the characters and the background as 2 prime examples. And the Mario Tennis game got motion controls. Remakes yes, ports no.

ok ok I'll give ya that. I'll win next time. :P But still, they should do a Super Metroid Remake at this point for WiiUniverse. Stunt Race FX and Uniracers remakes would be welcomed as well.

it doesnt need to be remade...snes games have a charm that wont ever go away. i would rather see them make a new game ever 4 years then waste time on ports every year. zelda, mario metroid dont need to become cod and have a new one every year.

Yeah their are only 2 Zelda remakes. Anything else is a port, or a rom on the virtual console/ Gamecube Collector's edition. A remake is something that is completely redone. Even the color version of Link's Awakening isn't really a clear cut remake as it's really just an enhanced port, but I'll count it anyway. I actually think Kirby gets the most remakes of a Nintendo game.

What about stuff like Pikmin 2, Twilight Princess or Metroid Prime where they added motion controls? Do they count?

A remake of the greatest game ever made? I'd buy it in a heartbeat. If they made 20 more sequels to a link to the past (remake)I'd never buy another game other then Zelda.

It's a great game, but I've never been the "die-hard" fan that some people are. I thoroughly enjoyed it then, on my recent play through I enjoyed it, but remaking it in 3D really doesn't appeal to me. I want a new Zelda adventure.

I might get it. Like others have said, I would greatly prefer a new installment. The TGS Skyward Sword 4 minute demo makes a good argument for why this may be the best Zelda since OoT. I didn't really get excited for SS until I saw that demo.

The video and comments prove that the remake was done in a Higher Res than the 64 version which can be clearly seen even in that low res youtube vid. And the Link to the Past thing is something I saw from that link I posted. Look at it.

Also this link proves that additional content and higher resolution has been updated to the GC/VC versions:

I'm not taking youtube comments as legit. I don't see a difference in that 240p only vid, my bad, not seeing it.

Now the other link you provided, that's legit. That can be worked with.

There is no remake to A Link to the Past...unless you want to refer to the GBA version that was redone. If then though, I get to use all the handhelds to prove Mario had the most remakes even further.

Super Mario Advance 1 (which got both Mario Bros and the U.S. super mario bros 2), 2, 3 and 4 all on the gba along with the remakes super mario bros 1 and 2 (Japanese version) got on the gbc in super mario bros deluxe. Follow that up the remakes with mario tennis on the gamecube. Finish it off with the 16 bit remakes of super mario bros 1, 2, 3, and the lost levels...which unlike Ocarina of Time was merely emulated at a higher resolution and button mapped and a couple minor things...got completely remade from scratch.

Mario has the most remakes.

[QUOTE="wiifan001"] How am I supposed to take anything from that? It's in 240p, and not legit enough for my convincing. I am expecting a source, not some low res youtube vid. ....and that A Link to The Past remake?wiifan001

The video and comments prove that the remake was done in a Higher Res than the 64 version which can be clearly seen even in that low res youtube vid. And the Link to the Past thing is something I saw from that link I posted. Look at it.

I think I would prefer a brand new Zelda game, but it would be amazing to have A Link to the Past remade (same world and story and so on, but completely different graphics and gameplay) on the WiiU with amazing graphics in full 3D. The world of ALTTP is so darn good that it would be amazing to see it in 3D with top tier graphics.
