Here's the link: http://wii.ign.com/articles/972/972988p1.html

Basically the article talks with the producers of the game. Here are a few key points:

The reason it took so long to hear news after it was announced was because development was not actually started yet!

It tells a little bit of the story of the game at the beginning.

There is NO LEVELING UP by standard RPG terms, it sounds more like Zelda or Metroid where you have stronger or more variety of uses of your abilities.

It is more open world (probably not to the extent of say a GTA) so again, probably more like a Zelda.

Game is around 60% complete and no new release info out yet.

Sounds interesting but I wonder if this is going to be an RPG at all really; it sounds more like an action/adventure game like Zelda. Sounds pretty sweet nonetheless because the story sounds intriguing and to me, that is the most important part.

In terms of stats and leveling up it's probably more like FF:CC in that you collect artefacts to increase stats and health. Looking forward to this game however. Vids on the official website seem promising.

Yeah, the game is going to be totally awesome, it basically play the same way as FFCC: Echoes of Time minus the level up and multiplayer feature:(, also I agree it will be just like Legend of Zelda.

I have a feeling it's going to be a nice long adventure and the story sounds more and more intriguing. The graphics look pretty awesome and this might be a totally different experience. Now that being said, I am a huge fan of more "traditional" console RPGs and those elements so I was hoping back in the day that this would be more traditional but I'm not going to complain. This game looks fantastic.

Only 60% finished? Not that I mean to rush them because obviously I don't want a thrown together game but that's going to be a long wait. :?

It looks fantastic so far.

I have a hard time believing a developer who says a game is 60% done... its just a way to twist the fact that it has a long way to go. All the same, I am getting really pumped for this game. I really liked the first one and if they can get rid of a few of the little things that did not work well in the first, this game will keep me hooked for a very long time.

It would help if we knew exactly what they need to do now. Depending on what's left, we might not have much a wait at all, or another year or two. :?

So far I'm loving everything about this game. I was never into the Crystal Chronicles games however this one has changed my outlook on the series. I'm loving the level of intractability and the scope of this title. The game's main character rocks as well, finally a non-emo, non-androgynous main character in a Final Fantasy game.

"There's no level-up system in the game. Instead, you build your character's abilities by equipping accessories. As an example, he suggested being able to make Layle pick up bigger and more distant objects." yep. almost the same system as the original. difference here is that you need to equip stuff and they dont add "generic" stats, they upgrade existing abilities.
