Epic Mickey
Maybe it is just me and this IGN person, but I wasn't too impressed with Epic Mickey at E3.
I think this is the type of game where you have to wait for reviews or more information to come out.
Agree? Thoughts? etc...

I'm excited and iffy about Epic Mickey. On one hand, I'm excited it's being made with care, by a big development team of 275people. It seems like for the first time, a third party is putting some serious effort and talent on the Wii. Also it fits perfectly on the Wii and it's a genre I really love, platformers. On the other hand, I was excited to see it at E3, parts of it looked great and other parts looked 'Ehh..' -- Basically, I think that out of everything we saw at E3, nothing stands out to me. Nothing makes me say 'I really, really need to play this game' -- Even the art direction wasn't too big of a chance compared to what we saw when it was first announced.
So I'm pretty 50/50 with it. I want it to be good, it looks decent so far though. I guess I'll have to see more.

That is kind of how I feel as well. We will just have to wait for more info. So far, there is nothing really memorable about the game from what I have seen.
I'm in the same boat. I hear all these great things about it, but of what I saw from E3, none of it impressed me. I definitely need to see more of the game before I can get hyped for it.

I feel the same way. I'm hoping and wanting to be a great game, but I'm not convinced yet. Other games I say inmediately: "I need to have this game!" But I wasn't so impressed. I agree with your sentence on the art style too. Could have been so much more (comparing it with the artwork they first showed). Now that i think about, the big talk for this game started with the artwork, and the contradiction of seeing Mickey Mouse in a so post-apocalyptic world. But it didn't live up to its artwork...The big thing producing hype for this game is Warren Spector because he has done amazing things in the gaming world.wooooodeI really don't understand that, Deus Ex was an FPS/RPG 10 years ago on PC, how will that relate in any way to how good this 2010 Wii platformer is?

Why? There is nothing wrong with what he said.
Whenever a third-party Wii game is created, (for the most part) developers take a beloved franchise, throw it into a crappy genre that's easier to develop (rail shooter [Dead Space], fighting game [Castlevania]), then sit back and wonder why no one is buying their game. For me, the answer has always been obvious, and I used to keep telling people, "Just wait. One of these days some developer with sense is going to combine enough people, talent, and money to create something really spectacular." Then Epic Mickey was announced.
While I suppose this guy at IGN has some valid concerns, and we all have questions after seeing the E3 footage, none of us has played this game yet. Some of his "concerns" seem ludicrous to me anyway. Take "Rickey Rouse – How Important Is Star Power?" How many of us really care about Mickey Mouse. Other than his role in Kingdom Hearts, who is he to us, really? How long has it been since he's been relevant? Or how about "Skull Island? More like Browny McGrey's Dull Texture Land?" Keep in mind, people were (and still are, in some cases) saying the exact same thing about Gears of War.
With Warren Specter's pedigree and Disney's money, I vote we take a "wait and see" approach to this one.
Don't worry IGN, it'll come out and you'll give it a 9 anyway...... Yeah, but Deus Ex isn't the only thing he's been part of. Thief: Deadly Shadows, for example (which I love) was released 2004. He seems great at making games. Hyping a game you know is being developed by talent, or a developer you really like isn't that odd to me. If Miyamoto were to create a game in a genre he hasn't touched, it wouldn't stop me from getting excited.
I've been waiting so long for another decent platformer/adventure mix and I think that it doesnt look too shabby, but it's just that I'm not a Disney fan, so this really needs impressing scores for me to buy it :S

maybe because Communism was never a great idea even at the start or maybe its because comparing anything to Communism is meant to leave a bad taste in peoples mouths who knows why the guy thought it would be good thing to say in a editorial but it isn't and ign au has lost more of the little creditably they may have hadIt reminds me of Super Mario Sunshine so I think it'll get Mixed Reviews.

No actually communism is an amazingly excellent idea; unfortunately it is just not practical.Edit: On topic, I'm pretty intrigued about Epic Mickey. I think it's improving from the initial screen shots, but I still kinda wish they did the project on an HD console so the initial concept art could really come to life.
