Woah that's not bad. In fact that's pretty good for a movie licensed game.

Since I'm a giant Potter fan, I might pick this game up. The game looks much better than the previous Harry Potter games.

One of the things the review docked poitns for was the fetch quests. I have nothign against them. The spell casting sounds good. I think i will have to rent or buy it.

Since I saw that interview vid with gameplay footage in it, I knew it was going to turn out god.

Too bad I'm not a Harry Potter fan.

As a big fan of HP, I'm pretty disappointed with the review. The guys at EA put a TON of effort in this game, creating a fan council and everything. Matt says it's his favorite Potter game, yet he gave Chamber of Secrets for the Cube an 8.9. The load times in that game were TERRIBLE. Now this one has no load times and gets a 7.8? I can't speak for Order of the Phoenix b/c I haven't played it yet, but if it's the best HP game why doesn't it have the best score? I would be a lot happier if it had at least gotten an 8.

I understand load times aren't everything and times change, but I had high hopes for this game. They gave Goblet of Fire a 7.2 and it was absolute CRAP. This one seems so much better. Like I said...I will shave to save my judgment for when I play the game. I guess it's like Matt says; Potter fans will be able to overlook the flaws. What do all you Potter fans think?

I think they give CoS a little too high, but it still a great game. Yeah I hate those loading times.

Agreed. I went back and looked at the breakdown of scores. Chamber: 10-Presentation 9-Graphics 9-Sound 8-Gameplay 7-LastingAppeal. Order of the Phoenix: 8-Presentation 8-Graphics 9.5-Sound 7.5-Gameplay 8-Lasting Appeal So Order has slightly better sound and more lasting appeal. Order's presentation was docked for the framerate issues and jarring cutscenes, but why in the world did Chamber get a 10 in presentation? Chamber's sub-scores don't reflect it's terrible load times.

Anywayyyy...I'm just being critical b/c I'm a huge Potter fan and I had more hopes for this game than any of the others. I guess I will choose to look at Matt's statement that it's the best Potter game, rather than compare it's score to Chamber. I think it's safe to assume Chamber's score is a little high. Maybe after playing Order I will feel its rating is a little low. Regardless, I think I will really enjoy this game.

I'll be waiting for the reviews on the PS3 version before I pick it up for the Wii. I have tried the wand controls and while they definitely add depth, I am not sure it is something I would want to sit around doing all day.

I don't trust movie tie-in reviews at all. I've noticed a few UK gaming sources are hyping up such games, and yet they're usually average at best. I know its a war of opinon, but a Gamer.TV (UK gaming show) advertises the new Shrek movie and scores the Shrek game 4/5. All the review does is compliment the game. This morning I read a review on GameCentral (UK Interactive TV service) and they can't help but find problems, eventually scoring the game 2/10. Because this is so confusing, I now make sure I never buy any games based on movies ever.

Would you think that its avaliable for rent yet. It looks like a good game, but usually i stay away from Games based on movies based on books, or just games based on moves.

I just watched Matt's video review and it made me feel a lot better about the 7.8. First of all, he said Potter is just under the 360 and PS3 graphically and that it's actually one of the better looking Wii games. He went on to say that the wand controls are amazing on Wii and that makes it the best version (in his opinion).

He did add that it was a difficult game to rate because of the fact that it does so much RIGHT. His main issue was the overall sluggish feel of the game.

He concluded by saying that if you are a die-hard Potter fan, go ahead and add a FULL POINT to the score. I'm definitely a huge HP so I'll go ahead and consider this game an 8.8.

Lets all just hope Jeff doesnt review it. Given his discrepancy on other games like scarface (8.5 from ign, 5.8 from Gerstmann?!?) this game will rate in the fours because it dares use the obviously horrible wii motion controls as jeff sees them.

The Harry Potter games have always been better than the majority of other movie based titles.
