8.4  Good to see another positive review for this game.  I'm picking it up later today.

The review says the game is HARD and challenging but they look on that as a good thing.  Bozon says, "This isn't Wii Sports Snowboarding.  I like that.

I think a lot of games are way too easy to beat these days and I am glad to hear that the game is HARD.

For me this review seems a lot like GS's Devil May Cry 3 review. Like DMC3 SSX Blur is a difficult game to master, but comes with a payoff. I appreciate this kind of review. Bozon cautions, tempers expectations, relates the game to a hardcore audience, ecourages steadfastness, and overall gives a much different view of the game than GS who implies the game's controls are broken.

I think that is because people got the impression that all of Wii's games will be for the casuals. Which they aren't, obviously. Especially with Sonic and SSX.

I really liked that review, and I'd say it's a good representation of the game itself.  It's easy to get convinced that the controls aren't working correctly until you start to analyze what your hands actually do.  I consistently drop my hands into my lap without thinking about it, but for a game like this, motions like this will cost you.
It's tough to relate this to a standard control scheme which has you pushing buttons with your fingers not timing hand and wrist motions.  I think this tends to get people to think that the controls don't work well.  People have been playing standard control pad games for a long time, and old habbits die hard.
So far I've found this game very challenging, but it is good thing.  I do see progession in skill learning, and I don't seem to be hitting a wall where I can't get better.  So many games lack that these days, regardless of control methods.
That's not to say there isn't room for improvement, but this is a solid game.  Totally glad I picked it up.

You guys should all check out RMC's impressions of SSX Blur over a gonintendo.com  This is a GREAT read, and I probably agree with everything he says.  He also gives some very good tips for ubertricks.

Any reviewer that says the uber trick system is simply broken could not have played the game for more then 2 hours.  After minimal practice, I pull them off almost every time.  To anyone playing this game, the best advice I can give is use A to jump, and motion to spin, flip and balance.  Works perfect, some of the reviews saying it doesn't are just flat out wrong.  I don't even know what game 1-up played, b/c it couldn't have been the same one i'm playing.
