From their latest Voice Chat. Dang, just like Madworld. That multiplayer better last darn long!

Edit: *Facepalm* I forgot the sticky! Delete this please!

Well FPS are generally short, especially if they are heavy on the multiplayer aspect.

Call of Duty 4Modern Warfare I believe is even shorter yet it's by far my favorite First Person Shooter! The Multiplayer was Simply amazing that i spent probably over 100 hours of gameplay on! Hopefully The Conduit has a good, Original Multiplayer to keep it longer also.

9 hours seems about fine, this obviously isn't Metroid or Bioshock.

Call of Duty: World at War is also very short. I've nearly gone through it on veteran though and it does prove that higher difficulty settings make it last a bit longer (Taking your time killing baddies, retrying levels if you've died etc.), so IGN possibly just went through the game on a medium difficulty setting?

But yeah, as the guy previously said, most fps are short, relying on multiplayer to keep it going. Furthermore, High Voltage did spend a fair bit of time on setting up a desent multiplayer (making all new, multiplayer specific maps, ability to join easily with or without friend codes etc.), so i'm sure things will be ok.

Killzone 2 is only 4 hours long, so this is pretty much par for the course for fps. Thankfully, it's the online that's the real meat of the game.

I think the real question is...how many ppl are actually excited for this game?? I mean we got lots of ppl saying "its gonna suck" Im just curious what does the majority think is it a hype fest that is sur to deliver or is it going to bomb worse than the first Hulk movie??? LOL

I'm sure most are stating that it will suck because everyother system has an FPS game. Most systems have many Great FPS on them. So one FPS on the Wii can't sawy us gamers used to HD graphics and great online to call it a great looking game.

Yeah, that is why the game has a deep multiplayer. And it is not like Madworld, that game was even shorter than 9 hours.

it said 5-9 hours, 9 hours looks like an upper limit and no offence but have you seen the multipler? It's s straight Halo; CE clone, right down to the uncaany motion snesor and plasma pistol that only seem to have been painted blue. I will NEVER understand the hype for this game, let the other systems hype FPS, The Wii has got LKS (it's out here in the UK and its freaking Sweet!). The Conduit has always looked like a below adverage shooter on a shooter starved system, it's like HAZE was back in the PS3 drought days.

5-9 hours isn't bad. There are other FPS that are shorter than that, and if it's good it might be worth a second playthrough.

5-9 hours is long enough for a FPS story. no one really cares for the story when there is deathmatch. how long was COD-4 story, 3-4 hours. i beat it in one sitting. Also, Conduit was never going to set any bars in the FPS genre. Not many FPS do now adays. The genre is more then saturated. You get a couple each year that keep raising the bar, but overall, they are all clones of another FPS last year. Conduit will be a B game. Nothing wrong with that. I hope the game plays nice and has good controls. If online works as good as they say, then great. Conduit is just showing us that most other 3rd parties, (EA, Capcom esp...) arent even trying to make games for Wii. COD-5 and Bond where just ports, and nothing special. It is nice to see someone putting heart into a game for the Wii that isnt Nintendo.

I beat Madworld in 3 hours...

9 hours seems about fine, this obviously isn't Metroid or Bioshock.

zh666

I beat Bioshock in 5 hours...

I'm not even gonna get this game, waiting for Rune Factory Frontier.

In your first run through, you beat Bioshock in 5 hours? I think I might have put 12-14 hours into it, because I wanted to soak it in. I wish it recorded your overall time so you could prove that. Ohwell..

Same with me I also beat it in 5 to 6 hours. I don't see why everyone was saying it was 15, I must have missed something :|

Listening to their comments in the voice chat it doesn't sound like this is AAA they way most people thought IGN would score it. I'm still looking forward to it...even if it isn't "perfect."

5-9 hours seems pretty fair to me for an FPS title. CoD:WaW seemed to be about the same length, and I really enjoyed that so hopefully this turns out to be another great experience. There'll probably be multiple difficulty settings for those that may want an extra playthrough and hopefully, the shorter campaign means that we'll have a really good multiplayer experience.

Well- hopefully the Conduit will be better than Haze- but you do have a point. The Conduit is being hyped simply because the Wii doesn't have that many AAA FPS games right now, that and the Conduit looks quite good for a Wii game.

As for the length, 5-9 hours, that's actually a bit longer thanthecurrent standardFPS length these days. Most are no longer than 6 hours long right now, so sounds like the Conduit may be slightly longer than the norm.

That's ok, considering that it is a multiplayer focused game.

doesn't this belong in the sticky thread?

but anyways... 5-9 hours of single player is more than enough for me in a FPS game.
