Donkey Kong Country Returns completely revamped Donkey Kong Country games and also added a lot of new things. What was SMG2? Simply a sequel that was really similar to the successor, and that can't be said about Donkey Kong Country Returns.

I still think Donkey Kong Country Returns deserves it more than SMG2 because SMG2 was just more of the same.

Mario Galaxy deserves best Wii game easily.

Major Props for recognizing MH3. IGN still sucks though.

So what does best blockbuster even mean? S&P2 definitely wasn't a blockbuster title. It didn't sell very well nor was the budget for it outlandishly huge. Whatever, just happy to see it win some kind of award.

The whole game was pretty similar to the first. Sequels are usually pretty similar to their successor, but with different levels and a few things added, and that is exactly what SMG2 is; a sequel with not too much changed.

I'm suprised Kirby didn't win a single award. Didn't itget a 9/10 on IGN?

No love for Silent Hill Shattered Memories? I think that has a better atmosphere then other M.

Are their nominees for over all game of the year up yet?

So far at kotaku and VGA's SMG2 didn't even make the nominee cut :/

Not like I've ever cared what those sites have said on this matter, I usually go with GS then IGN for GOTY.

Just would like to see it get nominated at least!

Red Steel 2 was definitley the best pick for "Most innovative game". That game had amazing gameplay. That's how you do motion gaming Ubisoft!
