I don't think it's bad to buy a console for one game if you really want the game. I ended up getting the Gamecube only for Godzilla Destroy all Monsters Melee and then I got an XBOX for Godzilla Destroy all Monsters Melee.
Along the way you find something else that catches your eye

That's I said on the other thread. Why should you spend $250 on a console for a $10 or less downloadable game? You need more reasons for that. A price-cut is not coming anytime soon.
heh :P I know a girl who I showed to her that Sonic the Hedgehog games and Super Mario Bros 1 and 3 were on the VC, and she wanted a Wii just for those games.
Aside from the standard responses of "you're spending $260 to MM9? WTF!!!?", what makes MM9 better than MM1-8? I mean really, by sequel 9 there better be something worth talking about other than the franchise name... So what is in MM that makes you want it? Or do you just want to complete the set or something?

You should never buy an expensive console for one game. You might end up seeing or wanting something else, and because of your careless choice, it will be out of your reach. However, this " especially on Wii " business is crap. The Wii has many triple A games like SMG, LOZTP,MP3C,and SSBB.
