Its the first time I really got into it. I had a account for a while now, but I didn't really bother to log into it until the other day. I don't really care for the difference between platinum and gold coins. Seems to me like the only coins that hold any value are the gold ones. Platinum coins get discounts on certain things, but only the gold ones can get you the free games. Unless you count Zelda Picross.
I miss the old Club Nintendo. Along with the Deluxe Digital Program, it was a complicated, but well rounded reward system for digital purchases. The way it worked was you got coins (or stars depending on region) for filling in surveys on games you purchased. After accumulating so many coins, your club ranking would increase, leading up to a maximum of Platinum status. At the end of the year, you had your choice of multiple items to spend your coins or stars on. Plus you got other rewards based on your club status.
Then you tack on the Deluxe Digital Program. How it worked is kinda confusing, but very rewarding. It pretty much was a system that gave you a $5 credit for each $50 you spent on the eshop. You had to go through a different site to get the credits, but when it was done, it was a solid system. Plus the credit you got added to your account could be spent on whatever you wanted.
My Nintendo is.... its alright. I don't care that most of the promotions are for discounts on games. It doesn't feel rewarding. Not to mention that the discount only applies to certain games and not all games. My Nintendo feels like a step back from Club Nintendo. Am I the only one that thinks like this?
