is a scam to make money and waste battery power. get a gcube controller there much better and they also work on all wii games that support classic they work on all but 2 turbographixs games on vc and they work for gcube games.

the ****c supports all that and does not play gcube games

u can buy a wireless gcube for about the same price as ****c and u can by a wired for about half the price.

There is a three letter word in there that gets blocked. Anyway, no, the controller isn't a rip off. I like the CC better then the GC controller when playing SNES or N64 games.

If you want to use a GCN controller, I especially recommend WaveBird- one of the first great wireless pads.

obviously a gc controller can play gc games, and no, some VC games are horrible w/ the gc one and a cc isn't that expensive it feels good and can play all VC games comfortably. cc controller is a good buy people, trust me. also it may work for almost all VC now but later it may not.

GS flaw. But yeah the C. Controller is just a scam. You can use the Wii Remote for 50% of the games anf=d the GC controller for the other 50% of games. Some people might say "Oh well it makes it feel like it did in the old video game days and gives it a nostalgic feel." If they want that feel that bad go buy a Nes and cheap Nes games. Don't waste money on a useless controller.

thanks for understanding what i meant it is a scam to make a quik 15$ it only what takes them 5$ or less to make a cc and the gcube wireds are 5$ at gamestop now and the wave bird i saw was 20$ snew. so its costs the same as a cc and it does more sure the cc is good for 1 nes game ands some people prefer zelda oot with it but wow a big diff to spend 20$ and as i stated before thnx for not reding e-force its not a scam for non gcube owners .

I agree with you 100%. The Clasic Controller is so pointless and a complete waste of money. You can play almost every game with a gamecube contoller. I play all my VC games with a gamecube wireless contoller and it works fine.

Out of the blue, the word c l a s s i c is filtered out not because of the middle three letters, but for the first 5 letters. Supposedly you can run some scripts here, "c l a s s" word is a reserved word used in many object oriented languages such as visual basic and java., GS filters it for safety reasons.

Two things. First, I love the classic controller. As has already been said, I find it much more comfortable for SNES and N64 games than the cube controller. I use the classic for every VC game I play. It is a great hybrid of old-school nostalgia and new-school analog controls. I love it. Second, I think Merch needs to chill out a little bit. He also should think about taking some English in school. I know Gamespot is going to flag me for this, but this guy has been attacking people and posting ridiculous things for far too long. Ignore him, hopefully he'll go away.radnasty

Uhh, no it's really not a scam... The fact that they LET you use gamecube controllers just shows how much it isn't a scam, in that you don't have to buy one, it's just got a better button layout. So your argument makes no sense.

Whatever, if you're buying VC games you're probably only doing it because you prefer the gameplay of it in it's "cl@ssic" environment as compared to the unweildiness of emulators, an extra 20 bucks down the drain to complete that "feeling" is pittance to the amount your spending on the games themselves after you get your library to your liking. If I wanted to mess around with crappy control schemes I could do it for free.

My GF and I prefer the CC over the gamecube controller simply because of the fricking huge D-Pad. That's seriously probably the best D-Pad Nintendo has ever made. That's probably not worth the 20 bucks to some, but I also prefer it's setup to the cube controller.

c l a s s gets blocked because it is an html code that isn't allowed, or something along those lines. So to block it out of the html source, they also blocked out of the regular typing/posting source. At least, that's what I've discovered.

If you don't like the cc don't buy it. The reason it is offered is that it is much closer to the original NES and SNES controllers and is for those that played those games when they came out. The nostalgia factor is magnified by using something that feels like the old controllers did.

I already have all the original SNES and N64 games I could really want. I can use the Wiimote for any NES, Mega Drive, and TurboGFX games which has worked great so far. But I've come to realise there's a need for a CC though personally I would have redesigned the thing with one analogue stick and 6 face buttons.

Another idea would be to release old school styled controllers bundled with some Wii points.

i would rather own the whole dang thing ... what i mean is i would rather own a snes system with 2 controller and games instead of paying 20 for a points card, 20 for a controller and then an extra 20 when ever you want more games... i mean nes, snes, and n64 you can get the system and controller for like 25 and u can get games 5 bucks each... why vc anyway??? its a ripoff in the longrun

"OMG the classic controller is soo stupid it's a total scam liek u cud jus use teh gc control and it werks so wtf why dont go an buy a cc becuz ull just waist ur tiem an it totaly pisers me of when othr peeple do what tehy wan wiht theyr own monees its stupid an i hates it if u bye it i b so made cuz i shud decied whut u do wiht ur monees so don bye it k?" People pverreact on both sides of this argument... I'm sorry, none of the games are virtually unplayable on the GC controller. I started playing ALttP on it and it played just fine. It just feels a bit better on the CC, that's all. The CC isn't a "must have", but it's not a "scam" either. As someone else posted, if it was a scam they would have made you HAVE to buy it. They didn't... you can play most VC games with the GC controller... so it's just not a scam in any way. Period. I was skeptical of the CC initially too, but it's worth the $20 if you have it to spend... but if not it's no big loss to not have it either, at this point. I've found that most people on this forum that have a CC act as if you just plain can't play most VC games without it, and that's total BS. Just because you have one, don't act like everyone needs to get it. And if you don't want to spend the money for one, cool... but don't act like anyone that does is a Wiitard.

I love the classic controller.  Maybe I still have muscle memories left over from all the hours I logged on the SNES, and the classic controller awakens them.  I slipped right back into Mario World and Link to the Past with the classic controller, but I would have had to relearn how to play those games if I were using the GC controller.  If Nintendo were able to patch the Wii to let you play GC games with the classic controller it would be perfect.

it's basically for people who don't have a gamecube controller. they won't make gamecubes forever you know.
