Now I love Nintendo. I am not a fanboy as I live life as objective as I possibly can. I always defended the Wii, but now that I have a 360 I'm starting to realize what all the negative comments are about. I got my Wii at launch on Midnight, but over the last 6-8 months I barely play the thing. Good games are far and few between, and when I do get a game they are usually short. I was looking forward to seeing people push the limits of the controller, but now with the massive sucess of the system, it seems as though the game companies are shying away from being too experimental or complex in order to milk the quick causal gamer buck.FalserthanReplace PS3 with Wii and you have the same problem. New consoles generally don't have the best games in the first year. Give it time and look at some of the upcoming games, if then you can't find any you want then sell your Wii or something.
wait are you posting this just for argumentsmusicman748
Oh, he's just trying to get some feedback. There are much bigger wastes of space on this forum (see the countless "which game should I get" or "who's the best nintendo character" topics). I think this is a topic a lot of people have an opinion on and it's quite important for the Wii.
I have to agree with the original poster on some levels. I've been slightly disapointed with my Wii as well, BUT not in comparison to any other system. I just think I was promised more than I've recieved. However, I haven't given up hope, not by a long shot. I'm willing to give Devs the time they need to create great things for the Wii, things that couldn't be done on any other system. Just look at some of the games coming out this season, they look fantastic.

I don't see how this is the wrong place for a discussion between Nintendo consumers about the qualms they have with their system. I, personally, think that it is too early to be disappointed. Recognizing the fact that you haven't played it much is one thing, but there are tons of games on the horizon that will be here shortly. Recently, I've only played mine to play FE: PoR and SSBM, so I understand your pain. I just think that with SMG, SSBB, FE:RD, ToS:KoR, Mario Kart, and many other game in the not too distant future, we can look forward to them rather than complaining about right now. ÂWrong forum

Dev's aren't shying away from experimenting, they were all just caught off-guard from the success of the Wii, so they dug into their bag of old tricks (in this case, PS2 games) and pulled out what they had. It takes time to make a new game, and it takes even longer when you're still learning the difficulties that the Wii poses for those new to the system.
Nintendo has always been a company that relies heavily on their own first-party projects for success. And, though that might be enough to sell the console to a number of people, it's not enough to convince everyone else to go with the Wii. Have you ever bought a Nintendo system specifically for the support of a third-party game? Probably not. But I can tell you that without third-party dev's putting out great games, no Nintendo console will be the leader in the market. Look at the Gamecube: it had some amazing first-party games, but a major lack in third-party support, and that was ultimately it's downfall.
Why would you buy a system that gives you only 3 or 4 good games a year? Why would you buy a system with a lack of third-party support, while the competitors are geting full support from dev's?
The dev's will always go with the leaders of the pack, it just makes sense. Nintendo surprised a lot of people, including the Dev's. Just give it time. It's not that the dev's want to put out bad games, it just seems that way right now because they didn't have any planned projects for the Wii at launch. A lot of Dev's have since jumped on-board, and are planning new games for the future.
Don't worry about the lack of good games right now. It takes more than a year for great games to come out (look at the 360 right now), especially when a lot of the dev's didn't even have any plans for the Wii a year ago.
Honestly I think all of you people who post messages like this do not do enough outside of playing games. I'm 20 and I've been playing games for a long time, but I'm in my third year of college and hardly have time for games as it is. The wii can play ALL gamecube games and SO FREAKING many awesome games from snes and nes... In other words if you are complaining you are only complaining about something superficial. I gaurantee there are tons of amazing games you have never heard about--go seek them out!!!
Yeah, I really really really want a wii bad because I sold my gamecube, but I know when I get a wii not only will I be able to play all the great new wii games of this generation, but also about 10 other gamecube games I never got the chance to play and countless AMAZING games from even further back. Seriously though, go create some art, read a book, watch a tv program, do some photography and when you come back... you will realize that gaming is a fun artform in itself to be enjoyed--not a lifestyle to live by.
french023 if your wii is just sitting at your house sell it you jackas if you aint using it you idiot and for you people to cry about thw wii not doing its job dont you think that they are trying it takes **** time so stop **** **** and crying about the wii already.oaktown510
