I don't have a handheld console this generation and I'm thinking of getting a DS this holiday. I have a Wii and Nintendo has failed me with that so maybe the DS can bring me back to Nintendo's greatness that I remember. I have some questions:

1. I have a wireless router so I can connect to multiplayer games since it has built in wi-fi right?

2. What are the best multiplayer games?

3. Is there some kind of compatibility between the Wii and DS where

4. If so, is it wireless?

5. How is the availibility?(Will I be able to go to walmart right now and find it)

6. What are the best single player games?

7. Besides GTA Chinatown Wars, what other rated M games are there?

8. How do the controls feel in general?

9. Should I get a Mic, i heard you can only chat in lobbies, not during games. If it is only during games then I won't get it.

You don't have to answer all the questions. If you have a answer to just one it's fine. All replies are much appreciated.

Any other info would be good also.

If you haven't heard, a newer version of the DS is coming out sometime next year. If you can wait for it, then wait.

Couldn't you just import it? Although, isn't it a slim possibility that there will be enough dsis to sell online?

To answer all of your questiones

1. Most routers work but there are a few that aren't compatible. I believe there is a list somewhere on nintendo.com

2. depends on what you like, I like AC, Mario Kart (don't own it but my friend says it's fun over wifi), and if u like pokemon then Pokemon Diamond.

3. Yes there is a few games and also on the Nintendo channel there is downloadable demos for DS.

4. Yes, I believe all connection is wireless

5.They shouldn't be to hard to find.

6.There is alot out there so it depends on what you like but my faves are final fantasy and pokemon(Platinum is the top selling DS game in Japan)

7.I dont really know I would guess that there aren't too many.

8.Once you get used to the touch screen it's pretty much the same as gba

9.I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as that but I'm not 100% sure.

If you do decide to ask for one make sure you get a game for it because playing with the setting only lasts so long. When I got a DS I didn't get a game and it was like not getting anything for christmas.

Wait for the DSi, even if you don't want it. As more is revealed about the new handheld you can better decide if it warrents a purchase. Even if you decide on the lite, you should wait because it will be less expensive when it isn't the latest and greatest.

the controls are great,

with your wireless router you can play ds games that can go on-line for no extra cost,

the best online / multiplayer games on DS are : Worms Open Warfare 2 and Mario Kart DS

there are always plenty of Nintendo DSs in stock at my wal-mart.

I would just buy the DS lite now because the only thing about the DSi i like is that it is 2.6mm thinner than the DS lite, and that doesn't make me want to wait a year and pay an extra 50$ or so.

Yes, you can play online with a Wireless Router and some good multiplayer WiFi game's are Mario Kart DS and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl..only if you like Pokemon and this isn't a multiplayer game, but it's worth your money because it could last over 20 hour's, Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, Great Platformers with some RPG elements and I have over 25 hour's on both games.

M rated game : Resident Evil : DS.It's great.(In Europe it is rated as 16+ , so i suppose it is an "M" in US ?)

Multiplayer games : Mario Kart DS for sure. This and RE: DS are the only games to make me return to Ds after having bought the psp...

I would strongly suggest you to buy the Ds Lite and not wait for the DSi in 2009. That's too long.
