it doesnt belong just on handhelds (by the way the controller has handheld games) ever play pokemon stadium? that game was amazing and just as fun as the handheld versions. they even let you import your pokemon from gameboy to your N64 that was AMAZING!!!!Just keep it on the handhelds where it belongs.

yeah I'd love that idea. Fans have been shoving ideas about a Pokemon mmo or a full fledged 3d rpg to Nintendo for a decade now, Nintendo seem not to care or bother with what people want so I'd go a head and assume an updated consolised version of the handheld game is never going to come.
I imagine console pokemon games pretty often in my head, and it looks something like this:
But then I remember that it's only in my head and that it'll never happen...:?:(
Anyway, I can't think of many benifits that a main-line pokemon game would have with the Wii U controller, even the DS games have little use for the touch screen outside of menus. Where the Wii U's controller could probably get use is with one of the spin-off series like Pokemon Ranger or Pokemon Snap, because using the U-pad like a camera could be pretty fun.
An HD version of Pokemon Battle Revolution? o.O
Unless Gamefreak starts development on the WiiU, we will only see spin-offs, and the last few spin-offs weren't that great. :?
A mian pokemon game, such as Pokemon black and white, will never come to the Wii U or any of Nintendo's future home consoles.
But now, a Pokemon stadium game that works with Pokemon games on the 3DS is and probably will happen sometime next year. I expect the touch screen will be used to display what attacks your pokemon can use and thats about all.
why must everything be on consoles? just because something is successful doesn't mean it needs to jump to consoles and risk ruining the franchise.ChikaraShrefHow would it ruin the franchise? They're have been bad console spin offs already and they haven't ruined anything. Anything handhelds can do, consoles can do better. A proper Pokemon console RPG could do nothing but improve the series.

The OP seems to be talking about a main entry in the series.
1. A console Pokemon RPG would never be able to trade between systems or let you train Pokemon on the go whenever you feel like it, both of which are the heart and soul of the handheld games.
2. Pokemon Stadium and Battle Revolution are all spinoffs (battle simulators and nothing more), why do no one ever learn.
