Well I live in a place where they have PAL systems. The Wiis over here cost too much so I was thinking of buying it from Canada (going there). Its going to be NTSC. So what problems will I come across? We use 220/240V (dont remember exactly) power. I can easily get games imported to my place from Canada. And I can also get Nadel's Wiiloader for emergencies. I will be only playing a few games so buying games wont be a problem. I will probably ply only SSBB this year and maybe Wario/Mario Galaxy as well but I doubt I will go beyond that for some time until another blockbuster rolls out. I doubt games will be a problem. Neither will controllers. Woudl the North American Wii be able to work with 220/240v power? Any other problems?

If you'll also be buying Canadian games (I was going to mention that the Wii was region-locked until I saw that), the only real problem you'll run into is the different power outlet setups. You'll need two things: a power adaptor and a power converter. Many countries and regions in the world have differently shaped wall sockets, so a power adaptor enables you to plug a Canadian electrical device into the wall socket in other countries. Canadian electrical appliances are also only built for 110-120V, so a power converter steps down the voltage to a level that won't destroy the electrical device.

When you go to buy the adaptor and converter (I believe that hardware stores sell them), make sure you look it over and see that it says it goes from Canada (or North America - the US has the same setup) to the country you live in. There are many, many different configurations, so you want to make sure you've got the one for your situation.

and prob have problem with wii WIFI. Which means you might not be able to play games online because it will try to connect the server to NorthAmerica, and you are not in NA.
