Ok I got a wii now. For gc games do I need a gc memory card to save in gc games, or can you save to the wii? I'm pretty sure I need a gc controller. I don't know if anyone can help but when I'm trying to set up internet on the wii, I get no acess point from wireless which is what I thought i had and I get error code something check your LAN settings when I try wired connection. Any Ideas?

For GC games you MUST have:
1) GC Controller
2) GC Memory Card

You're going to have to be more descriptive on the networking error.

Next time search Nintendo's site. Try here: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/errors/50100-50199.jsp
This might help you. If it doesn't come back here.

Go to the store and buy this item below. It cost 40 bucks but hey its awesome. Download the program on your computer then put the port in your computer's USB adapter. After that have the Wii look for a connection and it should find one.If not call Nintendo for help. Although it says DS the Wii can also pick up signals from this item. Only Wiis and DS' can pick up this signal

yea I tried searching for that error code in customer service, I think i may have messed it up, but it didnt lead to anything helpfull

Is that connector found in stores like walmart? EB Games? Best Buy?

Another note is that my parents don't know much about internet and such so they are against me doing this for some reason....though I'm sure they will love some of the VC games

I got mine at Best Buy and EB games should have it. Just ask for a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connecter if you can't find the box yourself

Don't waste your money on any kind of adapter.
I'll call Nintendo and then check out your router.
Even if your router by chance is one of the few that don't work with the Wii you're better off going out and getting a new router instead of one adapter.

HERE
19 dollars

HERE
33 bucks

Either one of them is better then any kind of adapter.
While the adapter will only work with the Wii and the DS a router will work with the Wii, DS, PSP, PS2, XBOX, 360, laptops and desktops (I haven't tested it on a PS3 yet but I'm sure they both work with it)

Get something that you can get everything online with a much cleaner and stronger signal then with an adapter

Check your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is it AOL? If it is it could cause problems. I have this issue as well.

I agree. A router is a much better option.
