In a word... YES! I got mine a week ago and love it so much. I highly suggest Poke'mon Diamond/Pearl as your first purchase. The DS by far has the best selection of handheld games out right now.
Oh and no, you don't need an add on to get Wi-fi on your DS, it's built in.
yes some good games are Lunar Knights, Mario Kart and Super Mario 64ds.Driver121113I wouldn't get SM64ds. So many better games like EBA, MPH, SSMB etc. have came out since launch
Great way to spend your cash. I defnitly suggest buying a Nintendo DS Lite. They are alot of fun and there are many games to play and have fun with.

No you do not need an adapter to play on Wi-Fi. All you need is a wireless access Point (wireless router). If you have a router that is perfect and you can go on Wifi free of charge!
I've had a ds for a few months now and i can say its OK at most. Their seems to be a lot of childish games that are plain stupid. I don't know about you but i hate rpgs and Pokemon. This leaves me with games like Hannah Montana and Mario's. no sport game works for this handheld. no fighting game works for this handheld(unless u import). Nintendo has a good system but its for rpgs lovers and Pokemon. If the sony didn't have crappy controls for the psp (and the horrible loading times) I'd recommend the psp but since it a Sony product i rather you get ya money's worth so get a ds.TooStoned420
So all the DS has got is Hannah Montana and Mario?
Good DS games for the TC:
Super Mario 64 DS
Kirby Canvas Curse
Meteos
Nintendogs
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Mario Kart DS
Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time
Animal Crossing
Age of Empires II
Metroid Prime Hunters
New Super Mario Bros.
Phoenix Wright
Star Fox Command
Final Fantasy III
Yoshi's Island DS
Phoenix Wright 2
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Elite Beat Agents
Castlevania DoS
Castlevania PoR
Lunar Knights
Hotel Dusk: Room 215
Mario vs. DK 2
Sonic Rush
Tetris DS
Clubhouse games
Kirby Squeak Squad
But seriously. DS has a great library to choose from. I'd highly recommend it. Definitely my favorite handheld I've owned, and possibly favorite system of all time.  Â
I now have $200, I'm pretty sure I want ot spend it on a DS Lite, but I want to know, is it worth it to get a DS, are they raelly any fun??? Also I'd like to know, do you need one of those wi-fi adpaters to play online, or does it come with it??? Also, which games do many people still play online? thx in advance.take_thisI am in the same situation you are and was about to ask the same question here but, you asked it for me, so thanks.

ÂWell i guess u read what you wanted to . I SAID I HATE RPGS AND STUPID POKEMON . So that leaves me with hanna montana and alot of marios . I arleady have castlevania(both) and kirby. So think b4 posting. For your case i hope ya a kid not an adult. I'll let you figure out why?.
it's worth every penny. there are MANY good games out there from all sorts of genres. and no, you don't need an adapter to use wi-fi. some good games to play online are metroid prime hunters, custom robo arena, mario kart, and pokemon. mario kart's definitely the best one for multiplayer wifi use. $200 will get you a great start with the ds.vanjamin
Agreed

well, you are in the minority then. there are many games besides just rpg's and pokemon...in fact there aren't even too many rpg's that i can think of besides the ones i own. there are all sorts of genres and sorry, but the ds and sports games are not compatabile...look at mlb 2k games for example...horrible looking graphics. sports games are meant more so for the psp. and there are 2 very good fighting games, but you just have to import them....bleach 2nd and jump ultimate stars. there are no u.s. fighting games, but they could be coming...naruto ninja council for example...but i guess that's too "childish" for you as well.
oh, and there are NOT a lot of childish games and the ones that are considered "childish" are not stupid. i'm 25 going on 26 and i love such "childish" games as ac( not cjhildish): ww, [pokemon, and fff: chocobo tales]

perhaps you should have done more research before you bought your ds because clearly you don't know how to enjoy the system.
btw, how do you know pokemon is stupid. have you ever played it? i never played it until the ds version came out and now my co-workers...who are all in the mid 20's and older are playing them as well.
Ninja gaiden/zelda are  the best game they have to offer for the rest of the year so far. No i haven't played pokemon but i don't like the rpg foghting system nor do i like games based on children shows. look at the games i got for the ds:
I don't do stupid games like Final Fantasy ( never liked it or got into it) or pokemon ... And yes hanna montana is childish but i bet they'll find a way to make a sequel. I've seen the line up of games for the ds for the rest of the year and NINJA GAIDEN /ZELDA looks the mnost promising . (More marios like mario 64ds would be so cool or a paper mario ds. I'm not hatin on the ds just mad their going the gamecube route.(tons of bad games and a selected few that were good due to the lack of 3rd party support)
The game Elite Beat Agents made be buy a DS and I hate all those Nintendo platformers, including any Mario games. Just make a list of games that you think are unique in gameplay to the DS, if you can come up with a few titles just get it. Otherwise, just wait till your dream DS title shows up.
I already got the next Zelda game and DQ9 on watch list, and I haven't even played a Zelda game before.Â
Â
Ds has long list of titles, i should agree there`s a lot of childish games, albeit lots of them are so fun and enjoyable. I had a PSP, honestly is a incredible machine and the 16x9 widescreen is astonishing but Sony doesn't know how to use and develop it, honestly i think Sony was desperated to release due to the incredible succes of the Gameboy Advance and DS(sincerely Sony was scared about it) creating a mid portable, also it still seems to not existe so many good titles. Anyway, i switched my PSP by a XBOX and i was far to satisfacted.Â
I still waiting for a bold courage to buy a DS, once that I have spent loads of money here in UK and the Customhouses scares me, guessing that I'm a smuggler =P.....probably I'll do that and then when arrive to Brazil I`ll give me a plesure of a Wii =P. Sorry Sony, PS3 amazes me alhtough Wii is much more cheaper and has more interesting titles, unhappily i won't be able to play MGS 4 and FFXIII =/....Â

I don't own any sony systems due to the cheap way they are made. $200 for a psp and it breaks in 3- 6 months. I'll take my chances with the ds. I know they can make a Street Fighter Alpha 1,2,& 3 or a english verison of Bleach or some type of fighting game thats good not Naruto ninja which has a 10% chance of being good like Bleach. Maybe even Darkstalkers.(all Capcom games). I never got why they would put out a horrible looking RE b4 a street fighter.
