i would love to let mario die when im playing luigi u know, mario's floating in a bubble, and im just standing around, not doing anything it would be great to steal items from mario too. now, by doing those actions, the player who uses mario may strangle me or something, but that's not important i hope u can throw ppl in the game, so i can throw mario into a ditch
This game will be amazing, no matter if you play it solo or with friends. It has the classic platforming, with a multiplayer twist that will work very well for the series.
It is not a remake of the original game. It is a completely new game, with completely new levels. Where did you get the idea that this was a remake of a previous game?
Considering I didn't enjoy New Super Mario Bros for the DS, I doubt I'll enjoy New Super Mario Bros for the Wii. I'm also very disappointed by the lack of online play.
Like others have said its not a remake, People also assumed punch out was one as well because it had similarities but that doesn't mean its the same game since many things are different. Im sure it will have the tried and true mario gameplay we all know and love, but it will probably have quite enough to differentiate itself from the rest, I'm pretty excited about it and i hope we get as many crazy power ups as possible.

Come on dudes. Stop complaining about online all the time. What happened to the good old multi-player gaming while hanging out with friends in person and scream at eachother. It's the best way to play multi-player, in my opinion. Complaining about online kind of make you look like you don't have any friends, which is wrong, I hope. Nintendo have already mentioned online and why it wouldn't work. Don't know about you, but I don't want anything that doesn't work.
The game looks like pure concentrated fun. Invite some friends and be happy.
The only thing bothering me is that some people said it is clearly not a wii game but a ds game smeared across a big tv screen. That would be very sloppy. In terms of the actual gameplay, i heard it's incredibly fun and i can imagine that. It's a kind of friendly brawl, perfect for my bro and me.
Gameplay wise there isn't much to worry about, but its nothing to get excited over...its just Mario as usual story = rescue peach, A button = jump, hold b button and move = run...and its 4 player. Nothing there is seriously impressive, new or special but you know its gonna be fun especially if your playing with a bunch of mates...I just hope its a hell of a lot better then New Super Mario Bros. it looks likeit is so not much to worry about.
you can call it also SNES graphics game if you want , but it's a classic style mario so what do you expect ? i expect exactly such graphcis , would like a wii zelda classic (ALTTP-style) as well with 3-5x much dungeons etc. considering todays possibilities

i am....... i remember playing super mario bros 3 on the NES with my brother and sister.....
online co-op/competition would be dull......... unless it has wii speak then that's different story... but then that's still sad and lonely.... you don't need friends all the time to play NSMBW... but you have friends right? that come once in a while?... you can always play single player... and its focus is local multiplayer.... actually laughing/talking/fighting with your friends whom you can see while playing.... not some inanimate object transmitting voices from another country.... or worse, cursing and shouting to yourself without actually seeing who you're dealing with....or hearing them.... that's just sad....
and yeah it's not a remake.... more like re-imagining.... or an entirely new episode....
I'd be more excited about New Super Mario Bros. if it had online play, but right now it's close to "zero interest." I'm more excited about Mario Galaxy 2 since Miyamoto made this more geared to the dedicated/core player. I will take your challenge Mr. Miyamoto!
I'm looking forward to SMG2 more, but I'm definitely excited about this. A brand new 2D Mario that looks fun whether you're playing alone or with friends. Sounds like a sweet game to me. :D

Okay, first of all, Justmyview, the new mario is NOT a remake. It has tons of independent and new - never before seen - material. Also, if you want to play smash brothers, go play brawl! Get your facts down before a post.
