Is anyone else buying A Boy & His Blob this week? I can't be alone! *56k*

A Boy & His Blob is being released this Tuesday exclusively on the Nintendo Wii. It's from the same developer responsible for the completely awesome Contra 4 on the Nintendo DS, which is promising. Not only that, but the visual style, the animations, the soundtrack, and the gameplay, all look fantastic and unique. I hear that there are some major complaints about loading, but I can overlook that to experience this awesome looking game. What say you? Will you be getting this title or not?

Who could say no to this charming adventure?

Not touching it, looks niche and unappealing, mediocre reviews haven't done anything to sway my opinion.

I would get it if I had a Wii. I liked the original game. Would be nice to have a new adventure. Too bad there's no DS version.

Where are these reviews you speak of? Or are they imaginary? I haven't seen one of these so-called "mediocre" reviews.

It has received an 8.5 and a 7.6 (Good).

Yeah, that logic really doesn't make all that much sense to me. No offense there, Jayson. It's a large 2D-style platformer comparable to many other $30-$50 platformers on the Wii. The value is there. It's a much larger experience than you'd get out of a WiiWare title.

Hey TaMuK711 and anyone else that thinks it got "mediocre reviews." It has only been reviewed 2 times so far!! Nintendo Power gave it an 8.5 which is definetely not mediocre by their standards. On top of that IGN sucks when it comes to reviews. If you watch their video review of A Boy And His Blob, the whole thing sounds very positive other then a few small issues. Yet they gave it a 7.6?? I never trusted IGN, and they always seem a little off , like what they say in their review never matches their score..Also IGN seemed to miss the most important aspect of the game which was the dynamic relationship between the Boy and the Blob. A lot of people that have played it already, says it deserves at least an 8.0 from IGN, and they dont understand their review either. Everyone says its the best thing since ICO, and they compare it ot that, so if you hated ICO then I guess you should stay away form it. My copy is reserved and ready to pick up this week. vidgameman34

When averaged out, it's closer to the 8 range, which means around the same area as Gamespot gave to memorable titles like Deus Ex, Psychonauts, and System Shock 2. All AA titles here. So you only play overrated AAA-AAAA titles that are forgotten about when the next new and improved sequel debuts? No offense, but you're missing out on a lot of titles that way, my friend.

People don't complain about $30-$35 handheld game's, but when it's a $40 home console game... watch out!

The hand-drawn visuals are absolutely superb! And the animations are adorable and detailed.

An interesting point, to say the least, but I don't think A Boy and His Blob has to worry about being a generic game or being reviewed based on simply whether or not people give it points for being a Wii game of a scarce genre for the system. :P Still, I do think that we should see other reviews for this game before coming to any major conclusions. I'm actually interested in seeing if the points made in the IGN review has as significant of an impact on others who have played the game. Hopefully, we'll start to find out within the next week.

I think it's safe to say A Boy & His Blob will turn out better overall than The Conduit. I don't see the comparison there at all. WayForward has proven themselves to old-school gamers with Contra 4.

I will be getting this at launch; the hug button really drew me in lol.

I'll probably pick it up used on ebay when it's under $20...too much to play nowadays. Already got 7 games with the Wii to start me off.

Almost done the Conduit and Red Steel. Got to work on No More Heroes and Madworld next.

NHL 2k10 is a timesucker as well, I could probably play that all day.

The GT review was very positive. I am currently broke. So i will probably purchase this at a later date.
