Is Anyone Even Interested in Pokemon Platinum?

I don't think I'm going to be picking this game up, as much as I like Pokemon, because...well, there's not anything there to really justify buying a third copy of the same game. I may pick it up since this is the last series of handheld Pokemon games I plan on owning, and it will feel like a complete collection having FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and all three DS ones.

Incase anyone is not aware of what differences there will be in Platium from Diamond & Pearl, there are 3:

1) Shaymin, an event Pokemon that pretty much nobody will have access to getting, will have a second forme in the game.

2) Giratina, a legendary Pokemon, also has a second forme.

3) The world is snowier and your characters are dressed in warm snow camo wear.

Also the dialogue may be a bit different and there will probably be one or two changes here and there....not much for a Pokemon fanatic to get revved-up about. They should just skip bringing this out in America, since Giratina doesn't have a whole lot to do with Palkia and Dialga and everyone who likes Pokemon has already played Diamond and Pearl - for the last two years.

I don't think that nintendo is aiming for 12+ people who already own a pokemon game. No they're aiming for them kidz under 12 who already own like ALL the pokemon games.

I haven't bought D/p yet, so I'm just waiting for Plat to come out, as there will be all new Pokemon to me.

Oh, I'm getting it, that game looks amazing. Even if it does have minor changes, I'm still getting it.

I've never been a fan of them just adding a few new things and having us buy another game just for those changes. They should've just added those new elements to the D/P ones.

Hell to the god-damn no. Pokemon Diamond was my last Pokemon game, Im done. Ive beat almost every Pokemon and now Im bored, the games were all too similar.

Probably not haha. I can only remember a bit about playing pokemon red/blue with my brothers, and pokemon stadium :P

And yeah, I'm probably getting it. I never played crystal or emerald, and I don't remember much about yellow, so I want to play the third-ish one for once.

dude, you're forgetting better graphics, the torn world, the battle frontier, huge wi-fi enhancements, and a lot more content updated to the game itself. The gyms are getting redesigned, the cities are getting a facelift, and the pokemon sprites are also getting a redesign like in emerald.

I have no doubt, I'm preodering this game.

I have been waiting for this game 4ever. I passed on D/P because I new a third one was going to come out.

I'll probably pick this one up, because the new features are pretty cool. As of right now there seems to be enough significantly different/newly added, so it's worth it. There will probably be many new things announced after it gets released in Japan and info gets leaked over. Here's hoping Pokemon like Shaymin and Arceus are easier to get.

Hopefully it doesn't become a waste by Nintendo releasing a new game in 2 years where you can travel all 4 continents!

There's really no reason to get Pokemon Platinum. All the Pokemon games are the same thing over and over. What makes them keep going down is the combat. It's the same combat over and over. I think it's time they make a new way to fight. It could be like the World Ends With You. Also, all they keep doing is put new characters and pokemon in the game. Heck, the beginning is still the same. You get a Pokeball from the friggin professor, whoever the heck he may be! The pokemon u get is either a fire, water, or grass pokemon.

i wasnt interested in pokemon since the list hit about 254

the pokemon series was milked and it deserves to die... seriously. gold&silver were the best ones. but the rest could not be compared to the gameboy color generation. besides the graphics.
