it is sub par in my opinion. the graphics and music clean and very entrancing. the problem does lie in the fact that the gameplay is simply shallow. i cleared 2 dungeons and got bored with it after that. 4 weapons. and 1 magic element at a time. And the magic attacks arent especially flashy. nor are they useful. you have to kind of use them as a grenade or a mine. There are some support properties for them but nothing spectacular. Im a little irritated i paid 25 for it so after i finish it im gonna return it. Possibly get final fantasy 3 or just leave it as store credit for something else.

I thought it was an ok game. As long as you don't mind the terrible graphics. Check out some gameplay videos on my site, www.dsdatabase.org

I thought the gameplay was good, but I couldn't stand the graphics. If your into storylines more than graphics, than I'd recommend trying it.

It's ok. I bought it looking for an action type rpg. And I like it. I don't think it's quite as bad as Gamespot's review but it might not be as good as IGN's review. I personally like the graphics. The gameplay , although somewhat shallow, isn't horrible. I fyou can find it on ebay for a decent price , then i would pick it up

i really liked the game

and i dont agree with WootyWoot, theres no way u can beat the WHOLE game in 7-10 hours. it took me quite along time to beat the game

it has great replaybility and is open-ended so u can complete all the side missions after u beat the main storyline

i recommend it if u like dungeon-crawlers

the story isnt bad but the gameplay is pretty boring and straightforward. Dungeons are pretty much the same and very easy to beat. The side quest are basically all the same too..not many surprises~ you can easily beat this game within 15 hrs...less if you dont do all the extra quests

its very repetitive hack n slash, and the side quests just consist of going through dungeons you have already completed, and killing all the monsters. instead of getting this i would get lunar knights, which is a good action rpg and not
bland like this one.

I liked it but I didnt love it. Its kind of like FF:CC or Four Swords Adventuer, where its fun alone but its fantastic with friends. If you have other friends who own it I say go for it, if not you could pass on it and it wouldnt matter

I'd say, get it only if you are a real fan of the series.

this is definently one of those games to enjoy with a friend or group. single player is enjoyable for awhile, but the hack and slash gameplay will bore you and become a curse more than a joy... unless yer a hardcore hack and slash fan;) good for long trips if that suggestion helps

Children of Mana let me down. It's too bad you can't rent DS games (at least not in my town) cause I'd have liked to rent it and beat it rather than spend 30 bucks, beat it and get 8 bucks or so on a trade. I'd say go with Final Fantasy III (or IV or VI on GBA) if you want a good role playing game by SquareEnix, or go with Lunar Knights for excellent action role playing. There's also Puzzle Quest, and soon Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass and/or Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for games coming at the holiday season(ish).

all the final fantasy series franchise, not bad the game, but you will get hand crams. its lot better than lunar knights on slahing and hacking non stop from the first floor till the floor required to complete. the boss fight its easy, but those little pesky monsters give you a lot of headache, you will keep on slahing , but for hours your hand will feel numb.
