or do you guys find the Gamecube controller to be equally adequate???

I have a wavebird but am thinking about a classic controller for Super Metroid, what do you guys think?

You can remap the controls on the Gamecube controller, so . . . ??

Im so sick of people whining about not being able to play virtual console games with the cube controllers. It works just fine, it takes 5 minutes to get used to the controlls. Yeah I bought super metroid today and the cube controller works just fine.

Some games simply do NOT work right with the GCN layout. In SMW, you should be able to hold down both the run and jump buttons simultaneously, but you can't on the GCN controller due to their placement.

SMW is the only game that doesnt work with the Cube controller. No big deal. Just buy a Classic Controller. It is rather good when you get used to it.

There are others too, such as Donkey Kong Country (suffers the same jump/run limitation as SMW).

You generally can't. The only exception is if the game originally had button remapping built in.

Super Metroid allows it.

Classic controller is better than the SNES for single-wall wall-jumping, but the GC controller is more than adequate, and I'm using it for most of the game.

Me too. Although with the remapping in Super Metroid at least its okay to use a gamecube controller, as long as you get used to the horrible D-Pad.

I'm not seeing how it is "wireless" since you have to plug it into the Wii mote?! Yes, you do not have to plug it into the console! I've noticed, however, in some circumstances as to how the wired-to-wii mote approach is promoting a problem for me! For example, if you have two cats that like to play with such things. Nothing beats battling a boss and at a crucial moment your cat decides to intervene by so delicately jerking the controller out of your hands while he plays with the cord!! NOT COOL!! I vote the design teams at Nintendo need to produce a cla$$ic Wavebird......TOTALLY wireless! Feel me, Peeps?

Super Metroid rocks......but I haven't tried it with the GC controller. Been playing it with the CC so far, even though I'm dealing with two entities that like controller cords. See above post! Don't get me wrong! I love the feel of the cla$$ic over the cube anyday, I just don't dig the wired-to-mote approach!
