Final Fantasy III for DS hasn't been released in Australia, so I'm curious if it's worth waiting for. I read about it in Nintendo Gamer, and it sounds alright. I also read somewhere the graphics are in a FFVII style, which puts me off even though I've never played FFVII and seen the graphics first-hand. So, is it worth waiting for, or should I wait until I can get FFXII for PS2 instead?

FFIII is an excellent game.  The reviews don't do it justice.  It is the first FF game I have played, but I have been extremely impressed by the gameplay.  The graphics are nothing spectacular, but you didn't buy a DS for awesome graphics.  Like most games on the DS, the touchpad really adds a lot to the game.  I highly recommend getting this game.  Sorry you have to wait.

The graphics are nothing like FFVII. But it's a great game. However, if you are easily frustrated, don't get it. It's punishingly hard. But that's nothing that a little level grinding wont fix.

It sounds good, but I'll be waiting a few months to get it. :(

I really like how you can change jobs. After I finished Hotel Dusk I went to this game, I'm addicted. By the way, does the Knight job do anything special other than cast low white spells?

i agree completely. game is pretty good, a lot of exploring around and talking to ppl that u have to do to find out where to go next, etc. u have to lvl up though like always to beat bosses, cuz they have some tough bosses even 10 hrs or so into the game.

Yeah... If one of your other characters is about to die and they are attacked, the Knight will jump in front of them to protect them and take the damage himself.

Final Fantasy III is a remake of a Famicom(NES) title from 1990, so of course, the reviews have been a little rough on it. But it's an RPG for a handheld, so a simpler stucture actually ends up complimenting the game.

It's a good game, if you can stomach an older, simpler RPG.
