As the forum topic implies, is it worth getting for the Wii? I know I won't be able to downloadas many new tracks as the 360 or PS3and I'll probably have limited features due to the console's graphical restraints compared to the PS3 and 360. But is it worth it? The only home consoles I have is a PS2 and a Wii.

It's better if you get it for the Wii. The Wii version has online play and DLC. The PS2 version does not.

Get Rock Band 2, sorry had to say it :P As for Guitar Hero World Tour, get it on the Wii. It has online and downloadable content which isn't on the PS2.

Whatever song list you like better..

Rock band does have a much larger selection of DLC and it keeps growing. Look up what is available for DLC and what songs are on the disk and go from there.. Whatever song list you like better,, go with that.

Yes, it's worth it. The Wii version actually has every feature the 360 and PS3 versions have despite the limits of the console, so no worries there. The DLC is probably pretty limited compared to the others, haven't really been paying attention to that though. It even has one extra feature not on any other console, Mii Freestyle. Great game.

Why should I get Rock Band 2 over World Tour?

Tenko72
Because Rock Band 2 is better. It has more songs available for download, the interface is better and has stuff like fans and DLC songs get added to the Carrer mode making it longer. I suggest you get World Tour first with all the instruments (if you can) and then buy Rock Band 2 (like I will do). This way you will be able to play both of them with the Guitar Hero instruments as the Rock Band instruments don't work on Guitar Hero games.

I bought GH WT the full band set the week it came out and i'm still having a blast with it. The drums are way more rewarding than the RB2 ones because i just feel like i'm playing toms or something. With the GH ones i feel like i'm actually playing a drum set. So i suggest getting it if your a fan of the series.

Tenko72

You shouldn't.

GH:WT's instruments work with RB2, but not vice versa. So if you buy GH's instrument set (comes with the game), and buy the RB2 disc later, you're getting 2 games for only $50 more instead of having to buy 2 sets of instruments.

The instrument set, for either game, is a huge investment, so it's a huge plus to get the most out of your purchase by going with GH.

Yes. Yes, GH: WT is very much worth it. And the Wii version is easily the way to go because it provides features (stated above) the the PS2 version doesn't possess. I enjoy the game very much :D

It is definitly worth picking up!

Great party game, and good DLC keeps me coming back for more:) As has been said before, the GH instruments work for Rock Band (so you can pick up the new AC/DC Rockband pack:D)

Both Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band 2 on the Wii are pretty much on par with their PS3/360 counterparts in terms of features and whatnot. Rock Band 2's online play is really, really good, and both games will let you save and load downloadable content to and from your SD card directly. The resolution is lower, of course, but the graphics are miles ahead of Guitar Hero 3. If you want, as clickyticlickingclickofaclipinclippingofaclick said, you can buy the World Tour bundle and the Rock Band 2 disc, because Guitar Hero instruments work with Rock Band 2 (not 1, though), while Rock Band (1 or 2) instruments don't work with Guitar Hero games.

I've really enjoyed it. It's my first GH game, and it's got a pretty large list of songs.

if youve ever played an earlier GH game, do NOT get this, it is a total bastardization. rock band has SO taken the band game throne, dont waste your time with GH, honestly.

First off, buy it on Wii, because of online play/music store and whatnot. Get Rock Band 2 instead of Guitar Hero, because the songs are actually more fun to play than Guitar Hero; they're charted better. (IMO) But if you want to play both Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2, get either set and buy the other game separately, since the instruments work on both games. (Though I'm not too sure if the GH drums work on RB)

That's not how it works. Stop confusing the guy. I'll say it again, and maybe this time, you'll read it:

On the Wii, Guitar Hero instruments work with Rock Band 2 (not Rock Band 1), but Rock Band (1 or 2) instruments DO NOT WORK with Guitar Hero games. This is a fact. You can confirm it at guitarhero.com and rockband.com.

Here's one of the OFFICIAL charts, from a PDF you can download at guitarhero.com

There. Controversy is over. No more mixed information. Those are the facts. From now on, everytime somebody asks about compatibility issues between those games, I'll post that chart. If anybody says something that's just plain wrong about the whole issue, I'll post that chart. If they can't read it, it will be their problem. If they want to disregard the FACTS and buy Rock Band 2 instruments for the Wii and then try to play Guitar Hero games, it will be their problem.
