There are some good first part games to get for the Wii that are worth playing and some third party as well. It all depends on how much value you feel you will/do get out of it. You just need to get past the regret factor.

Well those are two very good games but you shouldn't limit yourself to just those games as there are many quality titles available for the console

Those are great games, but believe me, once you buy a Nintendo Wii, you will want to get more games. New games come out pretty often, and some might interest you. Nintendo Wii is a great system without many glitches. I think it would be good even if you got 2 games, Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the best Wii game in my opinion.

if those are really the only 2 games youd get, i say skip it. if you look around and can find a few more that interest you, then i say get it.

The price won't go down by much in the near future so I say go for it if you know you'll end up getting it eventually

Sounds like a terrible idea to me. It's a rather big waste, but if you feel like you're going to play those 2 games a lot, then sure, who not? You might even find some more games you like, but otherwise, no. Poor idea.

When buying a console, find 10 games you really want to play and then go get it. But for 2 games? No, not worth it.

All together, a Wii plus those two games would be around $300. That means that each game is basically $150.

So, ask yourself whether you value each game at at least $150. If so, then it's a good idea. If not, then it's not. This entirely depends on you; this is not a question we can answer.

don't forget he's obviously wanting Multiplayer, Another Wiimote and Nunchuk is about another $60-$70.

OK, a fair point, then $180 per game, say.

I bought my wii for Punch Out!! and Rune Factory: Frontier. There isn't much else I want now, but I'm considering Red Steel 2 and Epic Mickey for future purchases.

In my opinion, and usually I try to not slay a person's decision but in this case, I'll oblidge, NO system is worth buying just for 2 games no matter what it is. Anywho, if your dad likes All-Stars, then he'll love New Super Mario Bros Wii and maybe even Super Paper Mario. Just to let you know, if you buy ANY system, you most likely won't just buy 2 games but the decision still rests with you, your money, your decision.

I guess since it's affordable, but I suggest you try some other games too. The Wii has some incredible games, but I wouldn't recommend just having a Wii because of the lack of third party support.
