is it just me or does the Wii really need some good games?

please leave behind fanboyism, i'm not a sony or ms fanboy its just that ima plannin on buyin a Wii but i think the only good game right now is zelda (right now not counting the games that will go out in this or the next months)

P.S does the psp version of metal slug anthology includes metal slug 6, cuz if not the Wii version of that game would be another good one for the system (well so-so, it doesn't compares to zelda)

another PS Please do not mention VC games, i know ther r a lot of great games 4 the VC but i want first 2 focus on this gen games (well zelda is not exactly this gen but im not planning on buying another game for GC)

In given time. Just be happy you don't own a PS3 :)

I'm just saving up for all the good first-party stuff to come along near the end of the year.

Yes.  The Wii is in desperate need of killer games.  It's getting pretty depressing at this point.  Games like "Cooking Mama" and any other quick build mini games aren't gonna cut it.  Nintendo needs to get their butts in gear ASAP.

Perhaps you are right, yet while it might be the case that patience is a virtue, it does not change the fact that there are very few good games out on the Wii. Hence, yes, the Wii needs new "big" titles (soon!!)

Touché... The next big title to hit the Wii would be Super Paper Mario which is a little less than a month away, then after that we would have to wait for BWii or the Big 3 which God knows when they're coming out. So in a sense, yes the Wii is lacking slightly, but I give them the benefit of the doubt for now with it being 4 months after launch. If Super Paper Mario does not live up to expectations I may rethink things a little though.

WarioWare, Sonic and the Secret Rings, SXX Blur, Elebits, Super Monkey Ball: Bannana Blitz, Trauma Center: Second Opinion, and Rayman: Raving Rabbids are all very fun. Of course two of those (Wario Ware, Rayman) are focused on minigames, and one is half(ish) focused on minigames (Super Monkey Ball), but there is a good chunk of good games to play already. If none of those sound like your type you can always rent Red Steel which has fun, but very basic multiplayer and a decent single player mode, choose from the list of Virtual Console games, or play any Gamecube games you have (you can get them for like 10 bucks or less used!).

I have to admit that there is a supreme lack of online support, and none of the games listed are M rated (doesn't matter to me, but I know it's some people's concern), but hopefully in the future we will see an improvement. The Wii's only been out for 4 months, so there is certainly room for growth.

Zelda is the only thing I'm not sick of. I own wii sports but don't play it, warioware gets old way too fast too (the GBA version was way better), and Metal Slug is Ok... Oh and I've beaten Zelda twice, I just love it so I don't think it will get old, but I will wait a while before number 3.

You have to consider that every console has a post-launch drought. It took a long time for the 360 to get rolling, and the same is true for the Wii (and PS3 as well). By the end of the year, we should see some great games coming out (not just the big three).

Until then, there are a lot of great launch games to hold you over, plus it's a good time to catch up on GC games you might have missed. And still there are some solid games for the Wii besides Zelda out already - Trauma Center, Elebits, Excite Truck, Sonic, Warioware, SSX Blur, and Super Paper Mario coming next month.

This man is wise apart from DC no system has ever kept momentum in their first year (IMO) it's the second year were things really come together.

its still in the launch phase. 360 didnt have any really good games at launch but now it has Gears, Rainbow Six, Crackdown, and lots of other good games. give it time and really good games will come out. in the mean while check out The Godfather: Blackhand Edition. it comes out on the 20th of this month. it looks quite promising.

To each their own, I personally like a game that I can sit their and play with all my friends.  Wii sports alone, the only game I own for the wii, does me fine cuz when people come over we can all play.  As far as playing game by myself, I bust out my 360, altho I still play this with my friends over xbox live.  The only games that really draw me in single player is role playing games.  I still prefer to play some sort of multiplayer game over playing by myself.  Thats how I always been and thats how I will always be...

let me review: 1) zelda: twighlight princess - good game. great graphics. held my interest for a good while. but god bored of the damn puzzle after puzzle 2) tony hawk downhill jam - purely freaking ADDICTING!!! i couldnt put it down. i beat it the first week i had it, then beat it 2 more times. 3) madden 07 - good game but i lost intrest fast. 4) wii sports (free with the wii console) - OMG the best damn game ever made. me and my friends have great drinking games with wii sports! so yeah....not all the games for the wii are great, but saying there is nothing good out just isnt true.

I completely disagree with you. Compared to almost any other launch in the history of video game consoles, the Wii has had a huge number of games with a few really quality games. Look at the Ps3's launch, N64 launch, Gamecube launch, even xbox 360 to an extent and you will find real game droughts. Xbox 360 didn't get a good killer app game until Oblivion about 6-8 months after launch.

Right now we are not even 4 months away from the launch. Look at the list for games in 2007 and you can't help but get excited. Mario Galaxy, Metriod Prime 3, Smash bros brawl, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Super Paper Mario, Manhunt 2, Big Brain Acadamy, Battalian Wars 2........ Great games for just about anyone.

How many games have you actually tried? A good amount of decent games launched with the system, alongside some crap I'll give you that but you need to give a chance to games instead of letting rival fanboys make your decisions for you. Give the following a try... Sonic, Trauma Center and Wario Ware. There are other good games but try playing a few before you slag a systems entire line up .

I believe the Wii needs better games. Zelda is great and all, I also do play Metal Slug on the Wii and love it. But Im sick and tired of the overall game selection for it and the VC downloads. I know there are a few good ones coming out soon. More SNES and N64 games would be alot better. I guess I will just have to wait.
