no and no. its never too late to buy something (unless its not sold anywhere and impossible to find), but the console will not last another 5 years.

It is never too late. Actually you have a great advantage at this point. There are alot of games you can get for dirt cheap. (ie. No More Heroes, RES 4, Zack and Wiki) I did the same thing with my xbo 360 (had a wii first) I got all the great xbox games and payed dirt cheap for the games. So getting a wii at this point is great. Lower price, lower game prices for the ones that were released in the past few years. You are at a good point my friend.

It's a good time to buy a Wii right now. Its had a price drop some what recently so you will pay $50 less. Plus you will be able to start picking up many of the great games that have come in the past years and 2010 is looking very strong.

From looking at Nintendo's history expect new hardware by fall of 2011

If a new console in less then 2 years doesn't bother you then go grab one

it probably won't be backwards compatible, and if it is it won't be back to the gamecube... soo... 200 dollar gamecube, plus you dont have to worry about running the risk that wiiware/Virtual console/Game Saves wont transfer over.

I picked up a Wii in October after they dropped the price. I am loving it. It definitely is not too late to get a Wii. I already have a PS3 and 360, but use my Wii a lot. Wii's are also really good for entertaining the ladies. If you are looking to have a fun time with a girlfriend-- get Just Dance, Wii Fit, Mario Kart, and New Super Mario Bros. Those games have definitely been helping my love life out.

For myself, I have gotten a whole bunch of games at great prices: Zach and Wiki, House of the Dead Overkill are great budget titles.

Some of my other favorite games for the Wii are Punch-out, Super Paper Mario, andSuper Mario Galaxy.

The Wii is a great addition to the PS3 and 360-- I love all the ****c platformer games. So, it is still a great investment. The 2010 Wii release schedule is also looking pretty sharp. This is the best time to buy a Wii.

You know I just checked up on ebay, and NES's are on stock. It's not too late to pick up an NES. Oh my bad, we're talking about Wii's. Yes, it is far too late to pick up a Wii. I mean, who even mentions the Wii these days?
