my cousin who has the wii has a 50/60 incher sony hd tv, and it looks amazing, kinda scary whipping the wii-motes around like that in front of it though!!!!!!! i find it funny that a million people have to reply saying the same thing, but I might aswell join themredboxai got some right here.hmmm
[QUOTE="MAILER_DAEMON"]Not as long as you have component cables.wizdom
I agree, if you have the right HDTV then you are ready to go
Define "right HDTV" when it comes to playing a Wii on it. Why would some say their Wii looks poor on 40/50+, provided they are using component cables?
who cares , fun is the main thing!AhBlurKing
I'm not having fun if I can't make out what I'm seeing. It can get almost as bad as that mate.
they have HDTV cables made for that =o (shocker)XxXdoggersXxX
HDMI cables will do you no good if your game won't run higher than 480p. That's like saying putting a low quality movie in a bluray player will make it full HD and amazing.
On my 42" lg lcd tv it looks really bad from 1-8 feet away, so the further you stand from your tv the better it looks.
i also tried it on a samsung 42" plasma tv and it looked alot better on that from close up, i dont know if its because its a plasma or because it has a better upscale then the lcd.
It won't look as sharp as anything that runs in 1080i, but it also won't look like crap. But from my experience here on Gamespot, some people define "crap" as anything less than 1080i. So it's all in your own personal taste.
As long as you have component cables, the graphics won't be bad enough to affect gameplay.

If looking at an upscaled 1080p image on a 40"+ from 6-7 feet corresponds quality wise with a native resolution at a distance of prox 3 ft, I'm cool.
Rereading that, I realize I made it sound a lot more complicated than I wanted to. Simply put: if the image doesn't get worse, merely stretched out (= requires greater distance for same perception), I feel safe. I just don't want it to mess the image up.
on bigger tv's the jaggies and low res detailed textures become very appearentAlways-Honest
From what distance would that be?
