Is metroid prime 3 multiplayer? i havent seen anything that says it is

I hope there is NO multiplayer and they focus 100% on the single player.DopeyDavoid
That'd be a terrible idea in my opinion. Online multiplayer, even if it is just online coop, would make the game 10x as desirable as it would be with just single player. Deathmatch online multiplayer would make this one of the best games ever made, and then Metroid Prime 3 could actually compete with Halo 3. A single player-online MP 3 can in no way compete with Halo 3, which I think it has to in order for Nintendo to be on top at the end of this year.
Why the hell do people think if this game has multiplayer 1 player won't be as good? It can have both and both aspects be amazing.Duckman5
Seriously. If Nintendo can't make a game with good single player AND good multiplayer then they don't deserve to be in business.
[QUOTE="merch"]the game is multiplayer but there has been no confirmation of online multiplayerDuckman5It's Multiplayer?!
No, dont get your hopes up. So far its said to be single player only..
Nothing is known, so dont assume anything.
just because Hunters was Online does not mean Prime 3 will, if it has multi-player at all.
Id like it more if it had no Multi and a Great single-player, multi-player is a waste of time on any game.

Yeah, looks grim. I'll buy it anyway, but man it could have in theory been better with it. This was originally from the 26th of may too.multi-player is a waste of time on any game.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend, but that is one of the stupidest things i've ever seen someone say
I hope there is NO multiplayer and they focus 100% on the single player.DopeyDavoidomg why.... what exactly do you plan to do afterwards? play it again? and again? and again? most likely not, a multiplayer mode would save this game from being played only once because of the replay value. I really do not understand the premise of those who dont want multiplayer - well actually, ONLY want single player. Remember when Nintendo said MP3 was a launch title, well... then they felt as though the game was ready... so whatever they add now (hopefully multiplayer) can only make the game better. (unless they take out from the single player which...wont happen) Multiplayer ftw -Zuma

You had nothing ti do afterwards. Now Battalion Wars 2 is adding deep multiplayer and looks much better because of it. So multiplayer isn't pointless. It's a good addition.

Yeah, looks grim. I'll buy it anyway, but man it could have in theory been better with it. This was originally from the 26th of may too.i dont really care if its multiplayer or not, since i've played the first one many, many times. Multiplayer would be nice, but it really doesnt go with the metroid series. I found MP:H to be VERY weird, and the single player was horrible.
People want Metroid to be Halo so badly. I really dont think they are going to turn it into that though. Like Miyamoto said, he could have made a Halo. Nintendo is known best for Mario,Zelda, and Metroid. All three of those games are mostly single player adventurous type games, Designed to fully immerse the player. Make them feel like they are the main character or apart of the story. Nintendo making Metroid into a Halo would totally go against that. If anything, Metroid is going against Bioshock not Halo 3.
Im not sure if you know, but Battalion Wars 2 comes out the day before Halo 3. This is the game that will compete with Halo 3. If you havent seen the first game, you need to check out the videos of it at youtube.com. This game will be absolutely huge online. Instead of fighting against a bunch of guys over the internet. You'll be controlling an entire Navy, Air Force, or ground unit. You'll be fighting against another army controlled by one guy, and trying to either take out the other army, or something mission based (taking over bases, barricks, freeing prisoners, tatical depth). There will also be some type of Co-op. Capture the Flag has been confirmed, not sure if you'll be able to play through the story with people online, or work together to take out 2 more players on the other team. I really dont care, because its going to be fun, especially since you can switch to any unit you want to be aprt of at any time. Theres never been any game like this on a console. Next to Smash Bros Brawl, this will be the biggest Online title for Wii, without a Doubt. As for online popularity, we all know Halo is by far the biggest online game on any system. Smash Bros Brawl however, could change that.
IM real excited for battalion wars 2 being online but mostly Id like to see the online co op be a seperate campaign.0v3rcl0ck3d
Edit: I heard there would be different maps for multiplayer. So the Co-op missions might be different. Different Objectives and stuff. So basically you might be trying to capture the flag against the cpu, all out deathmatches, or capturing bases, freeing prisoners and stuff. This will probably be up to 4 players. Meaning you and another person at your house can team up with another two peeps and fight vs. the CPU in different missions.

MPH wasn't created by Retro Studios, that would be the problem. However, the (for the time) awesome online multiplayer in Hunters was basically the reason to buy it, and the fact that it is the first good shooter in too long to actually have bots for tweaking your skills at home and with your friends (via local wireless) is another selling point. Unfortunately, Action Replay nerds have been ruining the fun lately. If we had a game with Metroid Prime's killer single player AND and improved and hopefully better moderated version of Hunters multiplayer would probably be one of the best and most well-rounded shooters since Perfect Dark 64.
Why do all you people need infinite replay value? Multiplayer and Metroid Don't mix, and Metroid Prime 3 was never intended to compete with Halo 3. They're completely different styles of games. That's like saying Mario Galaxy is competing with Final Fantasy XIII.Shy-Link
I don't understand you. Why wouldn't you want infinite replay value? Seriously, I won't buy a game, no matter how good it is, at full price unless it has really good replay value. Games today being 50-60 bucks a piece?I want to make sure I getmy money's worth. And the only way to guarantee you get what you pay for (when you already know you like the game) is replay value. Sure, you can add tons of side-quests to the single-player, but that only goes so far replay-value-wise. The best way to ensure good replay value is with a good multiplayer. Well, even that gets old after a while, playing with the some group of friends. It's too easy to realize their weaknesses and strengths when you'realways playing againstthe same people. It'snot even a challenge after a while.Really want to give yourself good replay value? Tack on some online play to that multiplayer and playing with the same group of people on accident will be nearly impossible. There will always be a challenge for you, no matter how good you wind up. This only gives you more of a reason to play: honing your skills; making sure you're 2nd to none.
So if you want to spend 50-60 dollars on the just one adventure; one time. Be my guest. Want to make spend 50-60 dollars on an unlimited supply of entertainment? Now you're making more sense.
That's like saying Mario Galaxy is competing with Final Fantasy XIII.Shy-Link
No it isn't.
The same lemmings who always say "gameplay..not graphics" are the same fools who keep saying "focus on single player..we don't need multiplayer". These Lemmings appear to not understand gaming these days. Poor lemmings, you just need to think for yourself and form your own opinions.StarkJJ
I think you meant sheep, you lemming/cow!
2 Things, 1) IT WILL HAVE MULTIPLAYER & ONLINE because metroid prime hunters for ds has multiplayer and online, what an embaracement it would be for nintendo to see this realization so dont you guys worry at all what so ever and do rember the game was delyaed...hmmm i wonder why? 2) It comes out on my birthday Aug 20th and birthday miracles do happen, i got u guys covered ;)!

Online multiplayer and Single player are both equally good. Without single player to hone our skills we would take a very long time to get good online, and without Online we would have no one to compare our skills with.
Online would be good to add to an already great single player game.
No, just because MP:H had online does NOT in ANY WAY imply that Metroid Prime 3 will have it. You know what it does imply? It implies Metroid Prime: Hunters had online play. Nothing more. Metroid Prime: Hunters was developed by Nintendo. Meroid Prime 1, 2 and 3 were/are developed by Retro Studios. Nintendo wants put online on Hunters, but that doesn't mean Retro Studios will put online into Prime 3. Yes, it means there's a higher chance but it doesn't make it 100% certain. Also, MP3 was delayed along with many other Nintendo games not to add content but because if they released them all on release date they all wouldn't sell as well. If they do them one at a time, they would all sell much better. In the meantime, I'm sure they did add some things, but that's not the sole purpose of delaying it. It would be silly for them to suddenly decide "Hey lets put online into the game! We don't have time, so we'll have to delay it!" If online multiplayer is going into the game, it was probably decided right after the success of MP:H online play. Lastly, your second point, although obviously a joke, really lame.2 Things, 1) IT WILL HAVE MULTIPLAYER & ONLINE because metroid prime hunters for ds has multiplayer and online, what an embaracement it would be for nintendo to see this realization so dont you guys worry at all what so ever and do rember the game was delyaed...hmmm i wonder why? 2) It comes out on my birthday Aug 20th and birthday miracles do happen, i got u guys covered ;)!

Yes, thank you for that incredibly useless input.
All senseless logic aside, your elucidation was false and Jim Bo Bo was correct in his explanation of the delayed release date. They have confirmed two times that there is only single player, no on-line mode or local multiplayer.
online multiplayer is something I need this game to have. I'll buy it w/o that but with online multi-player it would just be so much better.
And there's no way having multi player will hurt the single player. it's just something extra to add in after they perfect the single play
ok do u think multiplayer will improve the game or add nothing to the expereince? end of story.rooster1237
It hardly matters because there isn't going to be any multiplayer. Just because you think that the experience would be much improved because of any type of multiplayer function doesn't mean the developers agree with you or it will be included with the game.
Link.
It says 1 player in the fact sheet. It was posted May 22nd so it's not old enough to be denied.
