So far, i've been liking this game. Its much more difficult than any other New Super Mario game so far.. BUT I've noticed every time i've died, almost EVERY single miiverse post I've seen was " THIS LEVEL SUCKS"... Or "I HATE THIS LEVEL"...

It really seems like most people aren't really even enjoying this game because of the difficulty. At first I figured the miiverse posts would be cool and people would leave helpful hints as to where hidden star coins and items where, but so far, no such luck. All its been is complaining about how the game is way too hard. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

I thought NSMBU was one of the eaisier Mario titles. I beat it during a weekend, meanwhile I still haven't beaten NSMBW after 2 years.

I thought it was incredibly easy...

I grew up on old Mario games. Of course, I play pretty much every high quality platformer released since then as well.

This game allows you to use the Tablet to kind of cheat and get help from a friend.

I've played through part of it with my friend, and it was easy even though we were sabotaging each other the whole time. It's not a hard game.

I just finished the Soda Jungle World and have to admit the difficulty is definitely ramping up. I went from never dying in the earier worlds to dying multiple times per level trying to get all of the star coins. I agree that most of the Miiverse posts are discouraging (and the language! What are these parents teaching their children?) but I find the difficulty challenging and rewarding. I was playing the flying beetle level last night and it took me forever to finally complete it with all three star coins (I sure wish their was a checkpoint in those hidden levels!) and my older son who was watching me asked "How come you don't just use a P-Acorn?" He is only nine years old and still thinks the easiest way is the best way. I took the time to explain to him the sense of satisfaction I would receive from doing something difficult and how rewarding it would be to finish the game with all of the star coins.

So, yes, it is more difficult, but I find that difficulty to provide a more rewarding experience.

have them use the Wii U gamepad if they are killing the team, then again they might put blocks that might impede your progress, but that's up to you on what they play

I never took the Miiverse posts to mean that people are genuinely upset with the difficulty of the game. I think it's more like when you're losing at Mario Kart and you shout out a few curse words. You say something like "---- this game" because you were frustrated at the moment, but you don't really mean it and you're still having fun overall.

Also, I have to say that I haven't encountered much foul language on Miiverse, although I have heard a few people complain about it. I've heard it's heavily modded, so that's why I thought I hadn't encountered it.

LOL ive had some awesome rages from this game and im not a casual at all! Ive been gaming since I was 5 (27 in March). Beating levels isnt too bad but trying to get all the secrets and gold coins is a big PITA sometimes.

The game starts off really easy. Casuals might find the later half of the game challenging, but if they are enjoying the game then they'll find a way to persevere. They can always use a P acorn, find a shortcut, watch Luigi beat the level, etc.

The messages that pop up after you've died a bunch of times are from other people who have also died a bunch of times, so of course they're going to reflect a certain mood. That's also why the star coin and item hints aren't going to show up there. Those will only show up on the world map in balloons from people who have gotten all three star coins on a level or something. I left a ton of hints that way.

Except the messages you recieve after dying once and after dying a bunch of times are the same, so that's not true.

I was watching some footage on 'tube and the guy playing got upset when he couldn't reach a platform and thought it was a "design failure".

I though to myself "wtf man, that's even easier gameplay than SMW" but the guy seemingly thought the game was unjust to him.

I guess that's just the new generation of gamers...

Depends on how you play it really. Playing it alone entering each level without a yoshi can get hard on some levels. But playing with 3 players, one on the tablet and entering levels with Yoshis make it way too easy. Tablet guy helps the player and if one dies the other waits for him to come back. You're pretty much invincible, especially with all the lifes the game throws at you

As someone who played/beat every mario game...I thought it was too easy. It wasn't a bad game, but I could basically zone out and get through the levels just with my old school mario skills..which to an extent is a credit to the game, but I rarely HAD to focus on the game, which kind of disappointed me. I don't think the game really picked up until about the last 1/3.

Mario 3 got harder a lot faster. Eventually that game wasnt all that difficult to me either, but I have fond memories of the christmas when I got that game. I still remember the feeling when I unwrapped it.....I rarely experience that kind of enjoyment from a game these days.

Coming from someone who can beat SMW in 2 hours, I thought it was decently difficult.

Yeah I don't think its a difficult game really. But I've just started to feel like it might be because it doesn't seem like people are enjoying the level design all that much. Also you don't just post things to miiverse after dying you post them after beating levels and stuff as well.

When i first heard of this feature I thought it was going to be pretty cool to hear what people had to say, or that I could get some cool advice notes etc, but after playing it for a long time I've literally not had one good piece of advice, or helpful drawing, just people saying they didn't like the level, were frustrated, or something like that. Its just disappointing because at this point its an almost useless feature

I just wish there was a way to like, vote posts that you thought were helpful, so instead of just seeing random ones, Nintendo could sort out the good posts from the bad.

Follow some people with the game and their notes will show up more frequently. Two of my friends and one person I follow had played the game before I did, so I got a lot of cool posts from them on the world map. You could take a few minutes to skim through the popular section of the NSMB community and follow a few people who seem to be posting worthwhile stuff.

I used to post all kinds of helpful notes with pictures and everything until I was moderated for posting spoilers at which point I stopped. It seems Nintendo wants the feature to be nothing more than a shallow "I liked this level" or "This level is hard".

I wouldn't say the main game is too challenging although some star coins and rainbow levels can be really tough. It's the challenge mode that pushes players to have to be perfect robotic Mario players. Getting gold medals in the later challenges is insane!

The game is easy for me although I've had to play some of the boss levels repeatedly as some are pretty hard. Actually getting to the boss is the true tough work. The more you play the better you get.

I use pink yoshi to get through most of the hard sections. I feel like such a cheater as I float by enemies to get to the goal.

I beat the game a few weeks ago and am now going back through it to get all of the star coins to open the star road sections.

Pink Yoshi is so useful when star coins are hard to reach. I grab a blue yoshi if pink isn't available yet and travel through the water levels since any yoshi pretty much eats anything about his size.

Go after Nabbit constantly to get those very valuable P Acorns.

The main game? Nah, those messages you see are spurts of rage that most gamers have in their minds when they fail miserably, but are expressed just because they either want to use the feature, want people to pay attention to them for a moment, or both.

The challenge mode however is a different story. Some of those are actually pretty hard as implied in the name.

And it's people like you who are ruining video games for the real gamers. No wonder it's super difficult to find challenging games these days, when every new game gets catered to you casuals who suck at video games. I could really go for a real Mario 2D game, one that puts up a real challenge, like they used to, before Mario started being catered toward casual babies. You think NSMBWii is too difficult? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH XP Oh and apparently you started gaming two years earlier than I did!

NSMBU is indeed quite challenging. Although I like FPSs, they are far too easy, with regenerating health and checkpoints. NSMBU brings challenge that I wasn't used to.

SP? Maybe renting if you don't collect the 2D Mario games/love 2D platformers.

If you use it as I do for local couch co op MP with the lady and friends, it's an owner.

Honestly I love Mario, but Im not really crazy about this game. The overworld and challenges are nice, but unless you have friends/family you intend on playing it with I would say just rent it. Its a lot of fun with friends, but with no online its a bit of a downer.

I'd say wait to buy Rayman Legends. Already love it just from the demo
