If your not used to the Resident Evil's you'll probably have a couple really good scares because it's pretty suspenseful

In comparison to the first 4 Resident Evils, i'd have to say that RE4 is the least scariest. But if you havent played the first 4, then yes, it is pretty suspenseful.

Bioshock is so scary in my opinion. But is RE4 scary? Oh yeah. There's something about a spanish backwoods village of burlap sack wearing chainsaw wielding maniacs all out to kill you. Resident Evil 4 is awesome and I highly recommend it.

Not exactly scary or freaky, but there will be parts where you'll be all
"Hahaha, silly ppl *Shotguns* WHAT THE DEUCE?!?! AH!!! *shotgun, shotgun, shotgun, shotgun, shotgun, reload, shotgun, shotgun, shotgun, shotgun* huff, puff, damn scare out of no where!!!"

Ok, that's a bit of a exageration, but certain parts will have you wanting to do that.

Resi. 4's a great game, i just didn't find it that scary tbh. i think its because you can attack more quickly and freely, so you don't feel like you're in danger... :[

At some points RE4 can be scary and Bioshock is also scary but if I compare them both I'd say...RE4

You don't know freaky and scary until you've played RE4. There's so many moments of suspense, and quite alot of parts that will make you jump and keep you at the edge of your couch or whatever you sit on freaking out. *cough*CastleBugs*cough*

RE4 is an amazing game, don't get me wrong, but it's not scary AT ALL, especially in comparison to the other RE games. I mean having the two main enemies look like a Wizard and a midget pirate is not very scary. The first part of the game in the village was a tad scarier than the castle, but still not scary. The fact that the music is not scary and nothing jumps out at you kinda ruins the scare factor. In RE2, the music was all piano music that had a haunted feel to it, and things jumped out at you. RE4 is still an amazing game, probably more fun than RE2 because of the gameplay, but not scary.

Just wait until you get to the little prison. That was the scariest part for me. Be sure to open the dumpster.

Other memorable parts are the invisible bugs, wolves, village at night, and Salazar's right hand. Good times.

I didn't think Bioshock scared me at all. There were some parts in the game that were just really weird and messed up but other that it was not scary.

However I never played the Resident Evil for Wii because I don't have one at the moment. But the old Resident Evil's for PS2 and such.. ugh.. they were scary..

regenerators are the worst for me, and the music that plays when you meet one is horrible too.

also salazar's right hand and the monster at the cage that is suspendedin the air are horrible moments too. (all of this is horrible until you get the chicago typewriter of course) =D

There are scary moments.. but it's not too bad. In movie forms, it's the House On Haunted Hill Remake. A few jumpy moments, some gore, but not too bad.

The dumpster part wasnt scary, or made me jump, but it simply was disturbing. I dont see why people jump from that.. I was actually kinda laughing when that guy was running around in flames. The only part in the game I jumped was when I gunned the regenerators legs off, and he goes hoping up towards me and bites my neck.

Something that's really scary is when Regenerators start to run-walk at you. I never get enough time to snipe the parasites before it gets to me.

Seriously? It is not scary at all. It made me jump once or twice, but I was really alert(Mountain Dew FTW). But MP3:C made me jump many many times(but its not scary either). I don't really know why though, I guess its cuz its so immersive.

RE4 is definitely not as scary or scarier than bioshock. It's a great game with some parts that will make you say "WTF" and give you a heart attack (overexagerating). But i think bioshock is way scarier with the creapy music and whatnot. RE4 is a game i play for laughs now.

RE4 isn't entirely freaky. There's a few parts but otherwise it's not. The other Resi Evil's can be pretty darn freaky. But the difference is that those old Resi's IMO had pretty awful controls. Not bad enough to make it unplayable but trying to aim at a horde of zombies when your character keeps automatically keeps turning the other way for some reason results in a lot of annoyance.

there are 2 things that scare me in that game

1. Well I don't want to ruin it for the surprise but read on if you wish. When you go in that kitchen and the dude comes out of the oven on fire. I was like "OH ****!!!!!!" and freaked out.

2. Regenerators. They scare me. I know where they are, I know how to kill them, I know when I can run past them, I don't care every time I see one I wanna crap myself. Nothing brings me more dread than that creepy breathing whenever I hear it "oh god no..."

There are definetely some moments when I had to pause the game because it was very intense, even playing throught it again on the wii.

I agree. The mood and atmosphere of the game are incredible. There is no other game quite like RE4 right now atleast until RE5 comes out.

RE4 isn't meant to scare you too bad. It's more of a "OH MY GOD SHOOT HIM IN THE HEAD BAM OH LOOK A BUILDING JUST EXPLODED JEEBUS GODZILLA'S ATTACKING" game...I mean, an action game.

I am positive that Bioshock is scarier. Bioshock is soooooooo creepy!

RE4 is really fun, and pretty creepy, but not as scary as Bioshock. I think you should get it.

PyritePedestal

I love RE4, but I didn't think it was scary. Suspensful, atmospheric? Definitey. Same with Bioshock. But both are AAA games that should be played regardless. The original Silent Hill (before the formula was beaten to death) was genuinely scary. And the RE Remake for Gamecube is up there, too, but in a different way.
