i saw a trailer of RE5 on the xbox 360 and it takes place in Africa, and it has all these zombies in a villageand looks really fun. But so far i have heard about it only coming out for the 360, and that micorsoft bought CAPCOM. Ireally hope RE5 comes out for the wii because it's a lot more fun with the wiimote. But knowing that Microsoft bought CAPCOM it seems that all of their games are going onto the 360. The 360 already has Contra and now they're getting RE5?! CAPCOM should belong to Nintendo!Jayesler12
Well number one contra is owned by Konami and it isnt exclusive to microsoft, they are making a brand new contra for the DS.
And RE5 will be out for just ps3 and 360, judging by the trailers and screens I dont think wii could handle those graphics, which is sad because it does look like the same action as RE4 and it would be much much better on wii. I guess we will have to just put up with analog sticks.
Best possible scenario is a spin-off. I wouldn't think the Wii would handle it...-hotaru-
That would most likely be it. RE5 is being tailored for the PS3 and 360, which are both (obviously) very different technologically than the Wii. Porting it, while possible, would likely be a major ordeal and not come without its price. Just considering the significant downgrade in processing power alone (somewhere in the neighborhood of 700-ish MHz) that would be required to work around would make it a difficult project. Other issues such as graphics and sound wouldn't be as major, as they could probably be scaled down somewhat. The processing power of the Wii is just the really big hurdle that would have to be overcome.
So yes, if RE5 comes to the Wii in some form or another, it'll most likely be in the form of a spin-off. What exactly that entails, though, is anyone's guess.

So far we didn't see any major groundbreaking AI or physics effects, it was just intense graphics. Surely these can be downgraded to run on the wii? The scale of the game didn't really seem that big either. Just a small shanty town with many zombies.
Games like that can still take their toll on the processor and we just may not know it; one would like to think that Capcom has brilliant programmers ensuring we don't see any possible strain which the game could be placing on the system. It's wise to avoid saying it's "just" a small shanty town with a lot of zombies because, if RE4 indicated anything, those are zombies which are all thinking independently of one another and are adopting different methods for how to go after and kill Chris. Being able to handle so many different entities with artificial intelligence is no easy feat on a processor today, let alone the one which the Wii comes packed with.
But, as you've pointed out, we haven't seen so much thus far. All we got was a trailer and there's only so much information we can gather from it. So for all we know, one or both our arguments could be moot or valid. We just won't know until later on. Still, as an educated guess, I'm sticking to my argument because the Wii's architecture and its capabilities are vastly different than its counterparts. I won't completely rule out the notion of a port taking place, but I find the possibility to be very unlikely at best. Again, graphics aren't the issue at hand; it's how well Capcom could scale down the game to work with a vastly underpowered processor in comparison to the 360's and PS3's.

This guy knows what he is talking about.
No Re5 will never come to the Wii. Besides RE:UC and the rumored new IP from capcom coming to wii, this will be the only zombie action you will see.

1. I love your spiderman sig!
2. Like people said before. The Wii can't handle the graphics from that game. That is really the only reason I can think of why it won't be on teh Wii.
