maybe or maybe not that depends on how aticted Snake has become to smoke:P in the end its stupid of him to smoke when he got a job that needs him to be in top pyhsical condition:roll:
I don't think it's going to make a difference if he does or doesn't. He's already promoting violence in a nice gray uniform.
I don't think it will effect sales either way. Parent's don't look that close, smoking is a part of culture all over the place, and one character smoking isn't going to encourage kids to go pick up cigarettes.
Yoshi certainly didn't encourage me to lay eggs and Zelda didn't encourage me to chuck bombs around.
Snake might as well be Smoking Weed since he is going to take on all these cartoon looking characters and try to get with Samus. Cause Snake is a Pimp! I know I would have to be high as **** to start fighting a giant Ape and a Guy with white gloves and a goofy looking Pink thing. Think about it. The whole game is based on a Bad Trip that Snake is having. That works for a story line!

I've always seen him smoking cigarettes, the only game which says "cigars", as far as I remember, is Metal Gear for MSX, and that's because there weren't space to write "cigarettes".
