So Sonic & The Secret Rings is out in EU on fri and as I'm looking for a new Wii game I'm thinking maybe, so I thought I'd ask and see what people who have played it think?

Thanks.

I think it's worth it.  The main game is really fun, the graphics are gorgeous and there's a lot to do what with earning medals and beating the many missions in each level.  There's also a party mode that's not bad as an extra feature although it's definately the single player experience that makes the game so fantastic.  I had so-so expectations and I was completely blown away.

I personally don't think so as its not my type of game, but seeing as its very popular this game might cater for your likes. it does have some pretty sweet graphics it also has got multiplayer, but i think you should buy the game for the one player. Don't let the multiplayer be the reason to get it. Although I suppose the controls would get a bit repetitive as you do the same thing over and that the movement of sonic is not entirely in your hands (i mean if you didn't touch the wii remote sonic wouldn't go of track and into the landscape and bush and hit a tree). but I personally haven't had the chance to play the game so maybe i'm not the type of person to ask. I think it would be wise to hold on to the money and get a game coming in the near future like mario party 8. Unless you have money flowing out of your ears

About the controlls, your assumptions are not entirely true.  Yes you move forward on rails but if you don't controll Sonic's side to side movements you could very well end up hitting the landscape (for example, a cactus that would cause you damage).  The game doesn't play itself.

I've never been Sonic's biggest fan, but I think the fact that it's on the Wii it may make good use of controls although a few reviews I've read say they are repetitive, but I don't believe reviews I make up my own mind.
