Is it better, just as good, worse? I was considering getting it, I loved Phantom Hourglass.

i would definitely say better... even if a little... it's more challenging, and for the fact that I hated the Temple of the Ocean King in PH...

If you liked PH you'll like ST. It's more of the same with shiny new bits on :D Same controls, mostly the same items (with a few new additions!), same camera angles. This isn't a bad thing tho, as all the things that made PH awesome are doing an excellent job of making ST awesome too :D Definitly recommended!

They are both great games, I haven't played through the end of ST but it seems noticebly less repetitive since the temple of the ocean king is not there, just buy ST you are going to like it indeed as I do.

I'd say its just as good. If you loved PH, then you will most likely love ST. I'm finding ST to be much easier than PH as well as less repetitive.

I found that the aspects that detracted most from the Phantom Hourglass experience were the rediculously puny overworld and the restrictive nature of the sailing mechanic. It felt like there was almost nothing to explore. How does Spirit tracks cope in these areas?

You can see most people in this thread didn't like it but i guess everyone got his/her opinions about the game.I would say its better but not by much since it only has minor improvements and some additions like new weapons, new places etc.Overall if you liked PH like i did,you would enjoy playing ST just as much.

Indeed. That Ocean Temple really got on my last nerves quite a few times...
