I sure hope not. I've only got a DS lite, so I wouldn't be able to get it. If anyone can answer this nagging question, it would be appreciated.

Yes making people buy a DSi would be a bad thing for Nintendo. Of course not lots more money! and I really wanted to see this game at least DSi enached because the DSi is sooooooooo much better
If Spirit Tracks requires the use of one of the built-in cameras on the DSi, it would be DSi only. It does not fortunately.
Why? Do you really want camera support in a Zelda game?It would be nice if it was atleast DSi enhanced...

Exactly
It's bad enough other devs are adding camera games to the DS and calling them exclusive DSi games
Let's not muddy the Zelda franchise with it

Releasing Spirit Tracks as a DSi exclusive has two different sides to it. Nintendo would be able to move a few more DSi systems if they did that, but they would also be reducing their possible audience by releasing the title for a handheld with a much smaller number of users.
In the end I think they would gain more money from DSi sales, but they would not move a few thousand units of Spirit Tracks.

they would get more money from selling the games. that's how the industry works: sell videogames cheap, sell the games for profit.[QUOTE="Cruse34"]Why? That would be a bad move by Nintendo.I wish I only wish

No. It would sell so many more DSi units (like it needs it its selling so well as is)
They are already going to be making DSi only games, they'll just make the big ones come out next year when DSi hits 15-20 million units sold (10 now)
Sure, it would ignore 100 million users but if we've learned anything about nintendo's third pillars and concurrent handhelds is, they make handhelds popular and sell well when they want to
All in takes is a DSi exclusive Pokemon, Mario , Zelda or casual title and it'd be gen over for DS Lite, and beginning of the DSi gen (though its in its baby steps now)

You don't know it wont increase sales that much.
And on how it could use the DSi's features, DLC via new dungeons, 6-12 player online depending on how fast the DSi's GPU is (coz i've never seen if its faster than the DSs but i presume since everything else was upgraded that it was too, a better GPU can help put more ppl on screen), the better WiFi in the DSi surely could help online i'd imagine (but am no expert) and you know they would find a way to make the camera useful in boss battles just like they made blowing into the mic, opening and clsoing the DS, and viewing the boss's FP perspective on the top screen while viewiing Links perspective on the bottom screen to line up your attacks (i loved that battle in PH)
I'd think the DSi doesn't honestly need to sell anymore, its selling very well. I'd think only a new Mario, Pokemon DSi exclusive would be worth making DSi only (maybe Brain Age and Nintendogs) Zelda on DS sold what 3-5 million (im not sure) so i don't think its as much as a system seller when the system sells so much without it

yes i do.if it would increase enough to make it worth it, dont you think nintendo would be doing it? they're a company for christ's sake, their focus is profit, and if option A provides more profit than option B, than they WILL choose option B.
Unfortunately, no.
Nintendo could have been even more rich if they did, and I would have been so much more happy.
and there's that other thing... where exactly would you use the DSi features on a game like zelda?

Bingo is your answero
The DSi exclusive games feature camera support, oh well that's Earth shattering and I'm sure will be a crucial to 0 out of 0 games
As I said before, you don't muddy the Zelda franchise

New maps for multiplayer? New dungeons as DLC? User generated trains and sharing via wifi to internal memory?
and to Bruno, why did you quote just the first line of my post?
I said you don't know it wouldn't help sales, thats all. You can never know that, anything can happen
I even went on to say i didn't think a DSi only Zelda made sense because since it hasn't shown to be a blockbuster 15+million seller like Nintendogs, New Super Mario, Pokemon, that making a game that will only sell 3-5 million (which aint bad) probably wouldn't make too much of a boost to DSi sales since they are already outpacing everything, BUT a Pokemon, Nintendogs, New Super Mario makes more sense since its shown to be titles that actually drove the regular DS's sales even more when it was selling well.
I don't think DSi Zelda would give DSi sales enough of a boost to justify ignoring 100 million DS owners, however certain other Nintendo IPs would make the DSi userbase (which is already large) bigger and faster.
so i'm actually agreeing Zelda DSi only doesn't make financial sense.
DLC and user generated content could work very well
(like a dungeon creator like in PS3 game Folklore, that could work well i imagine but would require internal memory)

Cameras can be usedl for augmented reality and improved wifi/DSi Sound could be used for more players online and custom soundtracks respectively. And Renegade Kid is considering supplementing one of their upcoming games with DSiWare downloads...[QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]

i only quoted the first line because that was the part i was going to counter, so it's easier for people to read. but if you prefer, i can keep the whole thing. i dont mind, really. but my point is, nobody here really knows what goes on inside nintendo's HQ (unless we have an insider posting here *shifty eyes* ¬¬), but what we know for sure is that they'll always choose what's best for them. and they want more money, like any healthy company. so they'll always choose the option with more income. which means that no, making spirit tracks a DSi enhanced/exclusive game not only would delay the game, but wouldn't be as profitable for nintendo, regardless of how better i could've been because of the "boosted" hardware.Who says it needs to have DSi features to be DSi-exclusive? :?
Honestly, they could just lock the game as it is as a DSi game and they'd sell more without effort.
I'm pretty much saying Nintendo is a ihatefilterstars and can make easy money if they wanted to. I'm not saying they should.
Actually I'm just doing this because it's fun to see Bruno worked up. jkilu. sometimes.
