i love everything starfox, and this was the biggest waste of money for me.
dont buy it, youll only be dissappointed
I picked "Awesome"
I loved this game. I was stupid and let the reviews get to me at first; i had been a huge fan of the original and the n64 version and so i thought that i could pass this one up for a while.. but when i did finally pick it up in october i couldn't put it down. I played it exclusively for hours on end until i finished every ending, and i didn't rush it.
A portion of why i loved the game so much is due to how i played the game. What i mean by that is that the game only forces you to kill a select few enemies rather then clearing everything and the missles you get in the game are too useful. However, i played the game without using missles and i attempted to kill every enemy, not jsut achieving the "stars". By playing like this, i found it more challenging then it seems most did(though still far from unbearable or anything) and got to enjoy the combat much more.Â
Personally, i feel the controls are AMAZING. They are so much fun you simply have to try it for yourself. The story of the game is also interesting. More deep then you would expect, though sometimes too melodramatic. It also has lots of replay value due to the numerous endings and trying out the different fighters is a nice change from the traditional star fox games on the snes/n64. The game has its faults, and those expecting an onrails shooter won't be getting that. The strategy portions are actually fun, but they are not challenging enough; you don't have to plan/think as much as you should.. that is, it is too forgiving. At the very least, this game is worth a rent and a handful of hours to get the hang of the controls.. you have to play this game, and you have to give the ds controls for it a chance; they are fun!
