Is the DSi supposed to make a clicking noise when you open it?

I've opened my brand new DSi several times until it went in place, in both positions. But it doesn't make a clicking noise. My friend's DSi makes the clicking noise but mine makes more of a smooth sound when it opens in place. Is this weird? :(

Depends how much force you use to open it. And if you had a DS lite, just to let you know, the DS lite's "click" was much more aggressive then the DSi's .

My DSi makes a smooth click.

Mine doesn't. I've read somewhere that there's two DSi versions, the oldest one makes the click, the newest doesn't. I bought mine in October.

So the answer to your question would be: yes... and no :D it doesn't really matter :D
