is the wii gonna get some good first person shooters

Don't bet on it for a long while.

At the moment, the very best FPS are made by Western developers, and at the moment, all Western developers seem to care about is a console's power.  Mark Rein of Epic once said that the only way to enhance a game was with graphics.

Ironically, he recently retracted that statement and said his words were taken out of context....after the Wii became a smashing success, that is.

Point is, Western developers who make exclusive FPS games, and good ones at that, are either in Microsoft's pocket, or simply making multiplats.  You'll just have to wait for Retro to make a FPS that's not Metroid, I'm afraid.

honesty the wii is really lacking some first person shooters. it needs to land some also with mulitplayer or i think its gonna fail. the lineup for games right now really does suck, i cant find really many games i want, only games i have baught are wii play cause of the controller and then super paper mario. now i am lookin forward to like super smash, loved the gamecube version but honestly i want to buy another and besides zelda which i played and beat at my neibors house i cant really find any type of shooter to buy. now on the xbox they got alot i dont get why nintendo hasnt pushed any on to its system, wuts going on. i need something other than these types of games, does anybody agree. im not a hardcore gamer but i like killing things in games lolJlobel

THE first good shooter will be the new metroid prime game...remember....in the early days of control sticks, rare (golden eye for the N64) was the first one to have a good shooter....and maybe the only one other than turok....wait a bit and i am certain that nintendo will set a president on how to do the controls.....cause red steels control scheme SUCKS.....and then the good games will come out.

yea but, nintendo is best with their own stuff....and they have to show people how to use their tech because they are best with it....the genre itself doesnt matter, if you gave halo to the Wii, and at the same time had Msoft and NIntendo make the control scheme, msofts would be inferior because they arent the best at the hardware, not the software

wait for metroid man...itll be ground-breaking!, and resident evil 4 will be cool too! 

I agree completely about needing a genuine FPS that is GOOD, with a solid multiplayer, a la Perfect Dark (N64).

Not neccesarily a Metroid, although that game looks sick in its own right.  

I want a pure FPS that is Wii exclusive.  And good. 

Red Steel was alright.  but only alright because it was not nearly as polished as rare's goldeneye or PD for the n64.

The graphics were decent, but blood was needed or at least some better kill animations because the ragdoll effect for the kills was pretty silly looking and not satisfying.

Also, the swordplay was not polished in control.  a 1:1 control for this would be ideal.

I'd love to see a new Time Splitters on Wii. With netplay. Man would that kick butt. I can say butt, right? No wait, I can't? Can I say behind or bottom? What can I say? Man I am totally confused. I am very dirty or rather naughty coz I said butt, behind and bottom twice.

Nah I don't think Wii will get any good first person shooters, at least not very soon. Maybe Wiiremote wasn't made for FPS games... Although I'd like to play a few on Wii. Maybe They'll stop making HL2: Orange box (or was it black) for xbox1.5 and switch it's development to Wii. Then I could get the game for either PS3 or PC and Wii. Maybe not. It's sad that there aren't any good FPSs on Wii yet. It just felt like Wii would get the best console FPS-games ever. Maybe someday... Until that day, console first person shooters will totally suck.

Who cares if MP3 is a FPA ? Its in first person and you shoot stuff, that's all I care :P
