I own all three systems and currently have my PS3 and 360 connected only. The PS3 is pointless to have on-line simply because I don't have any games I wish to play on-line and that it's very difficult to find friends and invite them, etc. Is the Wii the same way? I guess What I'm asking is: Is there any real reason to connect it on-line? I know I can get the old games, but I have an emulator on my PC so who cares. Is there lots of games with on line play can you chat with friends, is it easy to connect? Anyone have any insight to whether or not this is worth my time? Is the Wii's on-line system well thought out or is it just there for you to figure out?

To be honest, it's just started getting going. Yeah, there are good games out online, so it's worth getting the online. The only thing is, on X360, you actually play AND interact through the live. So you can type, chat etc whilst playing the game. Wii is quite limited to only using the functioned messages on the online mode (in the online games I've played anyways) eg, "Hi!, want a game? LOL! You got owned! I lost! Take that! Bye!" etc. etc. in Fifa 08 and I think MOHH2.

But Fifa 08, MOHH2 are games that will keep you addicted with the online play, (well I think so anyways.) Other online games up and coming are the highly anticipated Mario Kart Wii and Pro Evolution soccer 2008 of course, so theres a lot to look forward to in terms of the online capabilities of the Wii I reckon!

And it is quite simple, yeah. All you need is a mac address, and um, your Wii serial number, which is in your notepad option thingi on the main Wii options..

thats right, I don't remember any type of mic. set up for the Wii, Hmm! Well I gotta say that's really disappointing. I bought the Wii for my Kids, honestly my sons the only one that plays it. Think he can wait till the XBOX720 Comes out and he inherits my 360 to go on-line :D

Fortunately that doesn't seem to the case with SSBB, while I believe that only connections coming from Japan are allowed to play on-line, I've been able to at the very least see others play. That's OK, I am still unlocking more characters and can see what others play like over Wi-Fi.

Wii has many titles that can be played online.
But i'm sure that all we are waiting for SSBB and MK Wii.
They will be great games with great online gameplay!

well if you are looking for an experience like the 360 then you wont get it, but it is ok, there isnt really a chat aspect to it except for some simple phrases, and unless you can talk to the person you have a hard time finding the game your friends are in unlike xbl where you can private chat them and be like ok man what is up we should go here and play this... of course im talking about in MOHH2 when people say would you like to play... it is ok though ecspeccially if you have vc games, but besides that if you have something else then i wouldnt bother but if you maby rent a game you would like to try online you prob have wifi cause you said you have ps3 online so besides that i wouldnt bother

wow longer then i expected lol.

I don't care about online games on Wii. I'll play at SSBB and Mario Kart online and that's it. Also, there's the wiiware games that are coming. You'll need a connection to download them.

Personally getting online with the wii is worth it if u like games like SSBB or Mario Strikers charged. However, its not necessarily worth it if theres only a small amount of games with the online feature. Overall, its best to wait untill a couple of more games with online play for the wii come out. Hope this helps your decision :)

all it takes is one online game to get hooked most people I know who play on the 360 play Halo 3, CoD4, and Gears of War. Few games because the replay value is immense.
