Well these games are comming out this year
Little King's Story
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Rune Factory Frontier
Arc Rise Fantasia
Final Fatasy Crystal Chronicles Echoes of Time
-
Then there are these games that are being developed for the Wii
Dragon Quest X
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers
Tales of ....... (Motheship title)
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn and Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World are pretty good games, both RPGs. Check the player review scores here, both are above 8.0.
The major complaints from both titles is that they weren't very accessible to newer players or fans of the genre. Since you're looking for RPGs, you're probably excluded from this, meaning that you're likely to enjoy them.
I didn't like the first Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles at all. I doubt the next one will be much better honestly.Archangel_2309
Which one? Echoes of Time or Crystal Bearers. Crystal Bearers will be more like a Kingdom Hearts/Zelda game and Echoes of Time is a sequel to the original.
Yeah you know, back when Tales of Symphonia came out on Gamecube I didn't get it. I thought it looked...kinda childish. But then when I decided to buy some GCN games for my Wii I bought it and game it a try, and it's actually a lot funner and funnier than I'd imagined. Pretty decent game. I went out and bought TOS2 the other week. Fire Emblem is always fantastic, so that's a must for most RPG and turn-based strategy fans - again I have both the GCN and the Wii ones. Yeah it's funny, both of those games are continuations of their Gamecube counterparts, in fact Fire Emblem 10 was originally a Gamecube game in Japan - they just sold it as a Wii one here to help give the Wii more games.
Beyond those two though....there aren't really any other RPG games on the Wii, unless you count some of the virtual console ones.
EDIT: Oh yeah, some other good GCN games you could try are the two Baten Kaitos games (like a speedy card-based RPG), Paper Mario 2, Skies of Arcadia Legends and Odama even. If you're really desperate for an RPG fix, buy the two Lost Kingdoms games, Evolution Worlds and Phantasy Star Online 1 & 2 PLUS (for offline play), since they aren't total losses.
Dragon Quest Xforgot_it
BAM! Owned. I doubt it will come out in 2009 seeing as how Dragon Quest IX hasn't come out yet on DS in Japan. Dragon Quest is the greatest RPG series ever made. There would be no Final Fantasy if there was no Dragon Quest before it.
The problem with player review scores is that when a game gets a lower-end score from the vast majority of reviewers, the only people who then spend their money on it tend to be die-hard fans or people who are already ready to disagree with the reviews. Thus, there's a trend among lower-end-scoring games that the player review score is quite a bit higher than the aggregate professional score, because you're basically asking fanatics if they like the game and dissenters if they disagree with the score it got.Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn and Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World are pretty good games, both RPGs. Check the player review scores here, both are above 8.0.

Don't remember exactly. It was the one for the Gamecube if that helps narrow it down any. :PDon't remember exactly. It was the one for the Gamecube if that helps narrow it down any. :PArchangel_2309
I think he's asking which future Crystal Chronicles game you're talking about - there are two. There was only one made for the Gamecube; it's pretty evident which you're talking about there.
Have you played Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World yet? That's one of my favorite RPGs.Vexx88I think he is going by reviews. ToS2 is good though. i agree ToS2 deserved a much better score

Got a link to verify that? I think it started out a GC game, but instead it was done on the Wii instead, its still on the Wii in Japan.

Crystal Bearers Which is the next main FFCC game is supposed to be nothing like the original, in fact it's all single player and is supposed to play more like Kingdom Hearts. I didn't like the original either but I'm digging the way the new one is shaping up.
Even still, we haven't heard about it in a long time so who knows what's happened to it.

He never did say if he had played the other games in the series from hat I've read in this topic.
Speaking of Fire Emblem, if I get Radiant Dawn and have not played the previous one, will I still be able to follow along?forgot_itYou'd be able to well follow well enough. All you really need to know about Path of Radiance is that (only read this spoiler if you know for sure you aren't going to buy Pat of Radiance)
Ike lead Crimea to defeat Daein, and that the Black Knight killed Ike's father.
What he said plus Monters Hunters 3, Fragile, Phantom Brave, Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga, and Kizuna, also don't forget we have Tale of Symphonia 2, Opoona, Baroque, Dragon Quest Swords, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon, and Shiren the Wanderer 3 The Sleeping Princess in Karakuri(Import).Well these games are comming out this year

Yeah, a new trailer of The Crystal Bearers will be included in the Wii version of Echoes of Time, can't wait for Echoes it's going to be awesome:D.First of all, Zelda isn't an RPG. Second of all, yes, I agree that a few more RPGS on the Wii wouldn't be bad at all. I would personally love to see the Mother series get revived, but according to Nintendo, that's not gonna happen. I think it's about time they made the next two Pokemon installments.
