I have one of those GBA movie players. It's pretty cool. The quality on video and music isn't great but it's good enough especially for something nice and cheap and its nice adding some extra uses to my DS when I don't feel like playing a game. You can't just rip the songs directly onto the SD card, you have to convert them to a special format with the software that comes with it, it's really easy though. You could get that MP3 player Langview linked to but it's just a new version of the Play-Yan with the video feature taken out.

It plays through the speakers but of course it sounds a lot better through headphones.
The item jayvan linked to is a MUCH better option for music and video, it also runs all kinds of homebrew applications. At the bottom of that page you'll see a link for M3 Simply, that's the newest version of that product line which is the size of a regular DS game and only costs $45. So if you want good quality that's your best choice. You'll need MICRO-SD cards for that though, not regular SD cards like the one you saw on eBay, which are a little more expensive but not much.
