The Wii is the newest thing out there... although you should probably expermiment with it at somone's house it IS that good. There is no comparison to any of the other consoles out there. If at any time you feel bored of what your current video-gaming experience is offering you, it would be a safe bet to see what the Wii has to offer :)

Every Wii game uses the motion controls in a different way. There are good and bad games just like any other console. An issue right now is that, with motion controls being so new, there are very few standards set to demonstrate what makes a motion control a good motion control. So, we end up with a lot of experimentation...which is both good and bad.

But, I do feel like solid motion controls add something to the gameplay and because of that, the best game on the Wii is more fun than the best game on other consoles, imo.

The best way to know if you want to get a Wii or not, is by trying it out.

no the wii isn't really that fun to play, the nintendo fans have a huge conspiracy going to promote the wii even though it isn't fun to play. I really can't stand playing hours and hours and hours of SMG and SSBB. /sarcasm.

I personally enjoy mine. It's nice to have something in contrast to my Xbox library. A little Smash Bros here, a little Halo there.... cant go wrong.

I find the wii to be a good secondary console as someone said before. It's nice to have another console also because many wii games do get boring quite easily. However if you have to money, I would say go and buy a wii of u like nintendo games A LOT. If you buy a wii, thats all you'll be getting.

Yeah, i agree, it is more of a secondary console for me,

Started playing it more recently in anticipation of brawl and mario kart and since my box is broken

You cant really go wrong with the wii though, you've got 'family' games, shooters, puzzles...blah blah blah

basically most genres.

IF you don't own a 360 or PS3 I would suggest getting one of the more normal consoles first. The Wii for me just sits there until my girlfriend comes over and wants to play Smash Bros. Brawl. Virtual console can be pretty fun if you get past the pricing, and I consider it much more exciting than Xbox Live Arcade. My Wii just collects dust, even with Brawl out... and that's simply because the online is gimped and laggy. If they ever fixed their servers I'm sure I would play Brawl a lot more. 2 days after Brawl came out everything was unlocked and I was left scratching my head as to what to do. Then on the 3rd day I popped in Halo and have been playing Halo 3 again like crazy. So say what you will about Wii vs. 360, but the game purchases you make on 360 are potentially MUCH more fun for the long run than anything on Wii atm anyways. Halo 3 + Call of Duty 4 + 360 will keep you busy online and off for eternity unless of course you don't like FPS games. If you don't like FPS then yeah... I suppose you would probably much more likely consider the Wii as a first choice, or possibly the PS3 for MGS 4 (which looks fantastic). I'm a Wii60 fanboy pretty much, but when I think about the old days when I owned the PS1 and played the original MGS it just makes me want a PS3 all the more.

I agree with it being a good secondary/party console. There's just simply not enough games that are actually decent out yet, expecially compared to the other consoles.
