their basically dead to me :(

And i grew up with nintendo, first owned console:N64. first game:ocarina of time. favorite game:Majoras mask.

My Reasons:

To me mario galaxy was overall quite boring , and it seemed like their "great" graphics were really just them making everything really shiny

twillight princess was just straight forwardly not good . ( and iv always been a big LoZ fan , the first game i ever played was ocarina of time)

Super paper mario:....paper is not 3rd....moving along.

I do own wii fit,wii sports,wii sports resort,mario galaxy,TP,super paper mario,RE:UC,etc

But compared to other consoles the majority of the games just seem to be second rate.

Sorry you feel that way. I certainly don't. I like the Wii way more than I thought I would. I will probably never have enough time to play all the games I wanna play.

There are a lot less Wii games I want to play than there was for the GC, but I still love Nintendo. I've got pretty high hopes for the next Zelda, which is actually being made for their latest console, unlike TP.

I wouldn't abandon ship just yet :O

It seems like you don't like the games just because they are different. It doesn't mean that they are going to keep using that formula for future reference.

Wii games are not meant to offer the same type of games you get on the 360 and PS3. There different. This is like complaining that your DS games are not as epic as your 360 games...

So you don't like great games and you came on here to cry about it? Well thats you business if you think random FPS A is superior to great Nintendo titles but this is not the place for this.

And I should care about this why exactly? Good riddance I say. One less whiner...

Listen, on second thought, if you promise to learn how to write and spell then *maybe* I'll care. I still probably won't but I might. :D

I've been reminiscing lately about the last two console generations, and fond thoughts of many games come to mind. Nintendo in particular shone in many respects, with stunning and innovative games on the N64, and even more so on the Gamecube. It seems as though because Nintendo was the underdog in the post-SNES era, they strove to attract and maintain their fan base by producing high quality games, and thinking 'outside the box.'

First party gaming masterpieces like Super Mario 64, Legend of Zelda: OOT, Twilight Princess, and Pikmin captured many gamers' imaginations, with deep and truly involving gameplay. This kind of Nintendo magic is still evident in this 7th generation, though with the increasingly ridiculous popularity of the Wii and DS, the company's greed to consume and dominate the market has created a disgusting concentration on ultra-casual - and downright rubbish - games littering store shelves. While games like 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Carnival Games,' and "Big Beach Sports' are all 3rd party games (as well as simply terrible), they are incredibly popular among Nintendo's new and gigantic demographic - housewives, young children, and families, most of which are unfamiliar and disconnected from gaming culture.

In turn, first party Nintendo games seem to be following this trend as time goes on - Wii Fit comes to mind - where novelty and pretty box art trump game quality and critical reviews. The most recent news that the next Zelda console game will feature Link without a sword for the first time, pushed me to write this blog entry as it is a defining moment in this undesirable metamorphosis the gaming giant is going through. I mean, to dash dedicated fans' expectations in order to create a 'family-friendly,' fluffy, less violent, and more 'mommy-acceptable' game is truly sickening. Miyamoto has decided to please the masses rather than please the fans.

Perhaps I am mistaken and the game will be fantastic and innovative, but I'm all too wary that my suspicions will turn out to be correct. By marketing the next Zelda title towards the family sitting in their living room together, playing ten minutes here and there, rather than to the engrossed and appreciative single player as it has in the past, I fear this series (as well as other great Nintendo series' perhaps) will join the other lack-lustre "SHAKE YOUR WIIMOTE FOR 10 MINUTES A DAY!" titles on game store shelves, disgusting true fans, and delighting 3 year olds and the parents buying them.

I've owned a Wii since launch, and I really don't play it all too often. I prefer to play my Xbox 360. I still haven't "lost hope" in Nintendo though. I still love playing all of their DS games. Just bought Professor Layton, plan to buy Mario & Luigi and Fossil Fighters soon also. Plus, a lot of Nintendo's games for the Wii have been very enjoyable for me such are Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros Brawl, and many others. I also admit that most games on the Wii look like @$$, but from my experiences I think SMG looks phenomenal and is comparable to a game on 360 like Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. In conclusion, I don't think you should "lose hope" in Nintendo because there seem to be tons of great games both in the past and future.

There's people out there who don't like bacon, or chocolate milk, or swiss cheese, or Mario Galaxy. It doesn't make sense to me, but I'm OK with it because it would be a boring world if everyone liked and disliked the same things. That being said, if you don't like the games that are out there, don't buy them, and stop complaining about it.

should've known what you were getting into before buying the console. Your own fault and now you thought you could share YOUR mistake on a purchase, and blame the company that made it. Back to my enjoyment on wii sports resort.

They're Basically dead to me.

we already knew that OoT was the first game you played

paper is 3rd, depending on how you list it, or if you meant 3d, have you ever seen oragami? or maybe even a pop-up book? although, in all actuality, paper IS 3-dimensional. just because paper has virtually no depth, it still HAS depth.

you didnt really ask a question for "anyone else" to something to.

and yea, i do kinda feel like the wii is kinda freaking out when it comes to really good games.

Something like this should be on your blog. This may be a forum, but I don't like it when someone has to pronouce to everyone that they are jumping ship. That's how a lot of these complaint topics get started.

By marketing the next Zelda title towards the family sitting in their living room together, playing ten minutes here and there, rather than to the engrossed and appreciative single player as it has in the past, I fear this series (as well as other great Nintendo series' perhaps) will join the other lack-lustre "SHAKE YOUR WIIMOTE FOR 10 MINUTES A DAY!" titles on game store shelves, disgusting true fans, and delighting 3 year olds and the parents buying them.

stack0487

You, sir, have very seriously misinterpreted what Miyamoto meant by that. And I mean you butchered its meaning to something that is most likely false in almost every single way.

I don't mean to be blunt but is anyone else tired of people coming to the Wii boards and say the same cliche type topics on how much they've "lost hope" on Nintendo? It's starting to become repetitive with these same and weak arguements used against the Wii.

EDIT: Hell they complain that all Nintendo does is dish out Mario, Zelda and Metroid and complain for lack of new IP's but when games like MadWorld, Little King Story, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Wario Land Shake It, Zack and Wiki, Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 and soon to be Monado, Sin and Punishment 2 and No More Heroes 2, they don't buy it at all because it is not of there "tastes." Sounds like you bought the wrong console.

Ever so sad and yet ever so true. You can never please the 'hardcore' audience. If you give them new IPs they gripe that its not a new zelda. If you give em a new zelda they screem for a new IP.

Totally disagree with original poster. Nintendo has evolved and long time fans don't necessary like everything now, as not everything Nintendo is doing is aimed towards them, but they're still doing enough to keep us interested.
