I'm up to the bit where you have to escort the Zora kid on horseback. I've tried twice a failed and now I'm just out of inspiration to pick the game up and keep playing. There hasn't been an interesting part in the game for a while now so I think that's why I've reacted this way- to not play it anymore. It's been a few weeks since I've last played. That's one of my favorite parts of the game...
Does the game get better from here on out? Please tell me it does :(
Also, some tips on how I beat the horseback escort would be great ;)

There's some pretty cool moments to come. You're done with collecting the terrible fairy tears or whatever as a wolf (seriously, that was no fun), so the game should get more enjoyable.
I found the game to be a complete wreck and one of the worst games in all of last gen.
I kept on trying to play it but the more I played it the more I hated it and the more I hated gaming.
I'd say stop punishing yourself and move onto another title. Play something you want to play rather then a title you're dreading.
ya i haven't played TP for like six months nowsme ive been playing smg and mariokart coz my w360 is broke and im thinking of playin metriod prime3 which i havent even completed the first level and going back to zelda and im in the water temple
but i've been thinking of picking it up againGC4ever
I feel sorry for anyone in this thread who says it's a bad game or couldn't be bothered to play all the way through etc. If I didn't play through a Zelda game, to me that would be torture. I couldn't force myself not to play through a Zelda game. Honestly, you're all missing out on a great game, not to mention the best Zelda game to date. I just recently played through the entire game again for the second time. It still a great game and I feel just as satisfied playing through it the second time as I did the first time. I just completed the Cave of Ordeals last night, which is one of the toughest things to do in the entire game. All I have left to do now is collect the remaining Poe Souls. There's so much do in Twilight Princess and it's all well worth it. The amount of side quests and things to collect is just...well ridiculously awesome :P. I mean, the boss fight at the end of the game is worth playing through just to experience that epic fight. The only thing I would say is that I found it easier playing through the second time, but that's no different than any other Zelda game. That's not a bad thing either.J_Ford
I have to disagree with almost every single point you made. :) TP was an awful game compared to the previous LoZ games and is probably in the bottom three. The Cave of Ordeals was too easy and got boring after a few levels. The sidequests in this game was a huge dissapointment. There were so few and they were boring and short. The temples in this game were only good near the end and every boss fight was terrible. They were all too easy and lacked originality. Nintendo rushed the game to get it to coencide with the release of the Wii and the end result was a terrible game, as simple as that.

I feel left out here. I beat the game around 5 times and love every minute of it.nintendoman562
Only five times?That isn't much; I've beaten it over 17 times.
[QUOTE="_Pinbot_"]Nintendo rushed the game to get it to coencide with the release of the Wii
Jaysonguy
100% wrong
The game was done almost a year before the Wii was released. It was held back to meet the Wii's release date.
It was not rushed one iota.
It sure felt like a rushed game. Especially witht he amount of items that were found such as the green potion and the large blank area near the lake which were cut out of the final edition.

Large blank area?Do you have a video of it,or some description where I can reference it from?
thats one of the best parts in the game and you didnt like it?
TP (or any zelda) is not for you.
BTW, the best 5 parts are (no specific order):
escort the zora
epic fight to save that kid i never remember the name from king bulbin
western movie scene on hidden village
wanna-be stealth part in gerudo
snowboarding on the ice mountain
riding epona around the world over and over
fighting 3 darknuts at the same time
fighting ganondorf without shield and with the ruppee armor (from the beginning to the last part, and no fishing pole tricks)
sumo wrestling
wait i already put more than 5 and still can think of more awesome parts :|

You're almost through the worst of it all. I'd recommend you just push through the last leg until the water temple. After that the pace of the game quickens considerably and there's not as much pointless questing in between each of the dungeons.
As for the horseback escort bit. Like someone said earlier, use your boomerang for the fires and use your bow for everything else. Everytime you kill someone on the back of one of the boars or whatever it is they ride they leave arrows for you. The target you want to hit is the bird in the sky flying around. Everytime you get to the edge of one screen the bird will drop a bomb or something on the carriage and force it to circle back around. Kill the birds straight away and you'll get through in no time at all. Hope this helped!
And keep playing, you'll be glad you did.
Beech101
This and also if you run out of arrows you can use your boomerang for the things on boars and for the bird with the bombs

seriously, that's one of the most epic parts in the game... well anyways with the tips you got you'll be able to move on.
i just ran using spin attack on anything that got close and arrows on distant enemies. and whenever the caravan was on fire i threw the boomerang at it.
important: always stay behind it and very, veeeeeeeeeeeery close to it (but not too close or you wont be able to shoot the bird). and never let you be knocked off the horse
I feel left out here. I beat the game around 5 times and love every minute of it.nintendoman562I've beaten the game twice, and I agree with you.
I thought the game was a huge disappointment. It was formulaic and uninspired, even though it was clear that a huge amount of money was poured into it. Easily the worst Zelda game yet (except for Zelda II on the NES, of course).tarzanell
ZII at least tried to be original and inspired.
I played TP for a couple of hours when I got my wii two years ago. Then I tried Red Steel and never went back to it...
Collecting the tears is kind of annoying, but after you've done all that it gets great the further you go into the game.rrtycoon14am i the only one that found it cool? of course when compared to the rest the game it can be called "boring", but it WAS fun for me...
lol....these topics crack me up
TP had potential to be the best Zelda game, but ended up being far from it.
It did have good points, but I as well as many others (like yourself) found it boring, and tiresome.
There were a few things that changed up gameplay like horseback combat, and the wolf, but other than that...it was the same old OoT remake everyone wanted, or so they wanted.
We hyped it up, Nintendo hyped it up, and it ended up being lame imo.
*MINOR SPOILER* I'm at the part where you have to move those two statues to get the master sword.fred1712That part is also lame. I could never figure it out, so I just used Gamefaqs and tada! Master Sword. And it felt so good.

The beginning of the game is very boring, I admit. After the 3rd temple, things get much better.

second time though i tried myself (couldn't remember how to do it, so it was almost like the first time) and managed to do it.
