15 years of gaming and the last i was angry about a game was giving Dixons $50 for Donkey Kong on the nes only to find out it was a 10 year old game with 3 levels. I thought Red Steel had some small glitches but nothing too bad but now i can`t progress. A fight 53% in and i have to fight a guy on a balcony in the rain who starts with a poison sword. Getting rid of his sword is easy. Avoiding his attacks and working an opening is reasonable, but whats the point when i swing my remote and nothing happens on screen. Reactions are terrable in this fight.

AAAAH $50 for Donkey Kong.

For that price, I played Donkey Kong Classics (a compilation of Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr.) in the 80s.

I thought it was $5 and not $50. If it is $50, it better be revamped and facelifted. Anyhow, the standards were very low back then as it is now.

the reason Red steel is so unresponsive to many moves is because the wiimote is only a 3 axis controller (X,Y,Z) so it can't really detect any of the normal movement you would use when using a sword, the game has a set number of allowed actions when using the sword. (it pisses me off to)

I remember them being around $35 max. Maybe someone can dig up a classic ToysRUs ad or something.

It was actually £50 British Pounds, very bad i know but thats what new NES games cost, even though they where years old and been launched in Japan, then America and finally Europe for a higher price years later, Mario 3 on the NES cost me £60 from Dixons, thats like $100 US i think.
But back to my post, its not the batteries im just having a very hard time getting the remote to react when i swing in this fight, the fight seems impossible to win and im dieing to progress. I might be swinging too slow or at a stupid angle so ill keep trying but anyone any hints that might help me?

i think i just defeted this guy by breaking his sword complety. when you dodge an attack shack the nunchuck and this will nick your enemies sword

thought i took me a long time to work out how to sword fight in red steel. i find i need to do two things put my trigger finger along side the remote then instead of by twisting my arm move my arm in straight movments.

all i can say is the sword movment control could have been a lot better

Your definitely wrong about that. I still remember doing odd jobs for my mom to get the $70 I needed for Chrono Trigger.
