I've played SMG, M and S@TOG and Links Crossbow Training!

Yes that's right. I live in Auckland, New Zealand and every year on labour weekend there is an event called Armageddon which show cases games, comics, wrestling, anime, tv shows and movies. Yeah all the geeky stuff that we enjoy. Anyway this year at the Nintendo stand they had some playable demos including the games I mentioned and some other games that are already out. The event is still on for one more day so if anyone who lives in Auckland wants to check it out then they should.

Anyone want to ask any questions about the games?

EDIT: Some of the Wiimotes there had the jackets on them so you can ask me about those too if you want.

The obvious question is how is SMG?

im actually curious about the camera. I never read anything on it. Is it automatic or do you control it?GunSmith1_basic

I'm guessing you mean in SMG, I didn't pay too much attention to it but perhaps that's because it was very good and didn't bother me.

SMG was pretty awesome.

The graphics were amazingly good and clear. The water looked like real water, it made me thirsty.

The controls are really simple and the motion is implemented very well with the spin attack.

The view is from the top down for the small stages and sometimes it gets confusing on where you are and where the gravity will pull you but I think thats part of the game.

On the larger stages the camera is the same as it would be in 64 and sunshine. As I said before the camera never got in the way so I'm guessing that it's automatic. You probably can move it but I didn't experiment with it too much.

Well for some reason the cursor on that wii and some of the other ones was lagging. A problem I experienced on the TV at my dad's house. So I couldn't play it too acuratly. The first stage of level one has you shooting targets in one place that keep popping up. Stage 2 moves around automatically to different areas where you have to shoot different targets and stage 3 you have to move around with the control stick on the nunchuk which makes it more like a 3rd person shooter. The wii zapper was surprisingly comfortable, I thought the zapper would be kinda crap but it's actually really good.

No, it wasn't there. The games that were there were; The games I mentioned, Mario Party 8, MP3, Wii sports, Big brain academy wii degree, Mario Strikers, Wii play and there was a DS station with Zelda, Pokemon, Braing Age 2 and Custom robo arena.

It has left me addicted enough to buy it when it comes out but not addicted enough to pay another $16 to play a demo.

To be honest I thought Sunshine was good game so I see SMG as a successor to that but SMG is undeniably(SP?) a very good game that will probably be up there with 64 if not higher.

I'm unnaturally bias towards zelda games so I loved it, I think its going to be a small hit, but you will really need the right tv for it

Lots of fun, I love the animation style, I didn't like the race on a sting ray soo much but still lots of fun

Metriod prime 3 has not been released in NZ yet so getting to play that was quite fun

I don't think so because I only have 1 controller and I don't plan on getting others until SSBB is released.

Well we get it on the 29th so we're not too far behind.

so it sounds like the game portion of of armagedon is a smaller version of USA's E3DVF44

Armageddon isn't a gaming show like E3 is,

Armageddon is more of a comic book convention, or a geek convention

they do everything from manga, animie, games, cartoon actors, star trek, star gate, they had the actor who played darth mall there this year, and bruce timms the co-producer on alot of batman cartoons justice league etc and lots of other cool people, Red vs Blue

So yeah the nintendo section was about 10 lcds lined up with games loaded

I probably will eventually but not on release date, I'd rather get Zack and Wiki.
