Japanese nintendo ds lite...possible to change to English language?

Hey guys...and girls, sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but im going japan over christmas and my friendreally wants the navy blue DS lite.

So im thinking of getting it for her from there, but do you know if the language can be changed to english?

yea yea, i know you could change the PAL ds's to japanese language and your right, i assume you could do the opposite with the NTSC systems.

I understand what your saying about pal games being english anyway, but its meant to be a gift and its always nice to look at something and fiddle around with it and know what you are doing lol.

So i take it you can change the language? or was that an assumption?
