I got one on amazon that was described as "like new," and I'm hoping the condition the system is in is actually in like new condition, with minimal wear. Anyway, I was wondering what suggestions you all had for cleaning the system, screen protectors, hard cases, etc. I'd like some kind of a hard case over it in order to protect it and saw one from Hori on amazon that's a clear plastic that might work well. They sell some of those Zelda ones at Gamestop but I like to keep the system in its black state, just looks better and not as kiddie. Also, any suggestions on good accessories, like chargers and such? any help would be great, thanks

For screen protectors, I use these Hori ones. Expensive at $9 for a single set? Yes, but the ease of application alone makes it worth it. It basically involves anchoring the protectors in place with some pre-attached adhesive strips, then pulling other tabs while making sure the screen protector fits onto the screen surface without any air bubbles. (Have I mentioned just how much I hate getting air bubbles when trying to apply screen protectors?) Just make sure you wipe the screens off with your own microfiber lens cloth instead of the included yellow cloth to avoid leaving lint all over the screen. You can easily get such microfiber cloths at the optometrist section of a supermarket. For hard cases, I have this transparent hard plastic one that fits nicely, but I haven't been using it lately since I like to keep my 3DS uncased in case I want to use the Circle Pad Pro. I don't have any recommendations on chargers, though.

thanks a lot, yea I saw the screen protector before, and $9 isn't a lot, that's actually quite cheap when you consider lots of the retail prices of e-reader screen protectors. Plus that implementation system of using tabs to avoid air bubles is somethign I think ALL screen protectors NEED to have. i went through 2 different ones before I got the one on my Nook Tablet to stick right.

I use those Hori screen protectors and I have a soft pouch that holds 3 games I slip my 3ds into. I can carry it in my pocket and I dont have any scratches on it in the year I had it.

Based on my experience, Hori screen protectors are the best. Like others have said, just make sure you clean the screen surface thoroughly before applying the protectors or else you're going to get an air bubble for every speck of dust.
