Like in the title, I just have some simple questions:

Any cool tricks for the XL I should know?

What carrying cases do you recommend?

Best memory card size?

Starter game recommendations (I have Super Mario 3D Land and Fire Emblem: Awakening)?

Thanks, everyone.

I only just got a 3DS XL myself.

All 3DS XL's come with a 4GB memory card already inside.

For games, I say check out the Castlevania Mirror of Fate demo on the eshop.

edit: for cool tricks: 3DS XL downloads stuff automatically while in sleep mode. You can pick 'download later' on every demo in the eshop for example, then go to sleep mode. Just don't pick 'download now' by accident. x_x

Also, on the home screen. The sun icon is a brightness setting. The square icons let you choose how many rows of icons are shown. Tapping a blank icon lets you create a folder. I made a folder to dump all the preinstalled system icons I don't need, like "Health and Safety Information". (Unfortunately, you can only label the folders with a single letter, which looks weird.) Lastly, you can hold and drag any icon to move it to a different place.

I'm not using a case for mine.
A 4GB card included in the package is pretty much enough for me, at least for now. I never buy digital games cause I prefer having hard copies of all my games, so the memory is actually more than enough for me.

Games I'd suggest Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a must and you can also check the new Luigi's Mansion 2

I got my 3DSxl last month. A lot of the cases are HUGE, but I like to keep my DS in a case. I found a very nice one at Walmart that's not too much bigger then the actual system and it has slots to carry 8 games. I'm really having fun with Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask and Harvest Moon a New Beginning. I have the non-3D Adventure Time game which is available for the 3DS and it's a lot of fun.

I recommend getting your hands on the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS remake, I got it when I got my 3DS because I couldn't think of anything else when I first got it. And man, I was impressed, I mean sure I knew I liked it back in the N64 days but this game is still a lot of fun. Star Fox 64 is also pretty fun, I had completely forgot they made it for the 3DS but when I remembered I was all over it. Unfortunately in my area it was pretty hard to pick up, but I found a used one cheap for like $20 (though you could get a new copy online for as much). Luigi's Mansion, highly recommend it, I was looking forward to this for a long while it's the main reason I picked up a 3DS recently. And it is everything I hoped it would be. Just plain fun and full of charm. And an addictive time waster. Keep in mind you can play DS games on your 3DS, so if you didn't have one of those you maybe find some more to play, keep in mind they made two Zelda games on the DS, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, so if you like Zelda games there's those.
